Anti-KSing option. Similar to the thing in RuneScape (=_=) where the player chooses whether he/she wants help or not. If not, no one can attack the monster that the player is attacking.

i need more details before i can vote yes or no.

like what happens if a player hits an enemy once and walks away? is there a timer or something? also, what is to stop someone from gathering up every enemy in the area and herding them, not allowing others any mobs at all?

i mean, overall not a bad idea, but it would have to be well done.

I have played RuneScape. In that game, there are regular areas and multi-combat areas. In regular areas, whoever clicks the monster first gets the monster no matter what. In multi-combat areas, everyone can get that monster. The thing is, it's not really anti-ks... because in RS there were ways around it... So I guess what I'm saying is that there's always loopholes :?

In most games this would work well, but i think unless it was almost perfectly built, it wouldnt work in SRO. Lots of people encounter giants and can't handle them, it is common for people to help others on mobs such as these or any mob a player cant handle :)

Overall I think this could be a good idea, but realistically it won't be good.

As has said, someone could just go around hitting random enemies not allowing others to attack them or herd them up for himself.

And what if you're in an aggressive area trying to run away, and you have about 10 monsters on you that no one can kill to get them off.

The only way to fix that would be to make it that you can only attack or be attacked by one monster at a time.

But then that cancels out the advantage str have of being able to take on many enemies at once without dying.


Also what would happen at boss fights? Regardless of the above being implemented to fix some of gthose problems. With that timer, only one person will be able to fight the main boss. Only one person will be able to fight off each spawn. I could see the fight lasting ages and be extremely long and boring as each monster/player attacks one of the opposite.

There are other obvious flaws, but I've wasted too much time on the forum today and I really need to start playing sro. :banghead:



I do agree though the ksing is really annoying, especially when someone is doing it on purpose.

They could hav it so that the thing applys only to normal monsters.

I'd vote yes provided that (as was mentioned) certain mobs are excluded from the rule (whether it's only uniques, giants, etc), and that there is a limit to how many enemies you can "reserve" at any given time, for a set time.

So for example, you can hit up to 5 enemies, giving you solitary ownership of them, so hitting a 6th would either bump the 1st one you hit out of the queue, or not give you sole possession of the 6th (while retaining the rights to the first 5).

Also, a timer based on last attack, so your claim on the mob goes away 5-10 seconds after you last attacked it. Could also throw in a timer that if you haven't killed it within a minute (while not losing it due to no attacks in 5-10 seconds), then it again becomes fair game as it's either out of your league individually or you've bitten off more than you can chew in some other fashion.

Some of it would be easy to implement, other portions, while necessary, could just increase server load and cause other, unforseen problems.

Maybe I just haven't had to deal with KS in the way the rest of you have, but as far as I'm concerned things are just fine as they are. I try to find areas without too many other players whenever I quest, and when someone starts killing near me I start moving somewhere else. And if I'm not questing I don't really care.

Rather than anti-KS system, I'd suggest Joymax to increase the monsters quantity.

It's ..... too little. :banghead:

Well i vote World Of Warcraft system FTW.

First hit gets the mob tagged for you, other can help doing dmg but wont get the drops. If you want to fight bosses, make a party.

The only problem would be that in this game you have a lot of archers that would be sending arrows at everything, but tehy would also get all the agro so it would be the exact same thing that happens now anyway.

Aside from that you have a timer, a few seconds maybe, after which you loose your tag, and another player can take it.

if this anti-ksing happen then nuker still the best kser ever with their lion shout series. I think is a bad idea

I don't like the idea of anti ksing, it seems to restricting in a game to me.

Sure I don't like ksing, but I don't think it shouldn't be able to be done.

Some ppl need to be ksd, others need to be pkd for doing it lol.

I think it should be this way:

It should be valid only for general mobs and champions. Not party mobs, giants, elites, uniques.
It should have 10 sec cooldown to prevent some jerks trying to stop your grinding by hitting mobs and running away.

I honestly dont care, im the one that ks. If guy ask me nice not to ks I dont. Simple as that.
All that anti ks things are just shit, would be to many rules and to many bugs knowing joymax.

i hate botters...majority of the ppl when im grinding solo are botters in the area...so i enjoy ksing :wink:...if its an actual player...i just turn my char around and head somewhere else.
