You do know most CGI models are based on real life people, especially game models.

They pay those ppl to run around in black suits with dots on them or film them right there on the spot to put them into CG.

Its how its been done since lucas arts.

Making a 3d model from scratch is usually hard and takes a lot of time, but not impossible.

nothing uncommon about it 90% of games use real people for there humanoids . The good ones use motion capture for there movements .Something sro obviously didn't.
