quick question about alchemy

so... i started using it.. @ lvl 43 lol
so it seems hard to get a certain level of x Element (x stands can be earth, wind, water etc)
is there a easier way to find the elements need for a lvl 6 STR tablet???
like, degrade your lvl 6 wind element to lvl 2 wind element?
