Do you think they should AUTO KICK for being AFK????????

I say yes because if they do AUTO KICK people from the game for being AFK for more then 5mins other player could get into the game more easyer and we will not have to much disconnections at the sign on screen and maybe it could help some of the lag in all the towns.
8) :D

How would we stall then?

5 minutes, are you crazy? 30 minutes is still a harsh. Any type of "AFK disconnect" is unacceptable in a game where, in order to make good money, you have to sit in one place and wait.

The economy of the game is based on stalling. So if you got kicked after 5mins, even 2hrs, it would kill the game. In my opinion of course. STOP WHINING PLS! If you lag, complain to you internet provider. It is them who control the bandwith. UPGRADE UPGRADE UPGRADE. I hardly EVER lag. Even when everyone dies around me because of it. So... yeah.

+1
most people stall overnight while sleeping, if there was a auto disconnect, then every time we were playing running around town, we wouldnt be able to find any clothing or weapons, BECAUSE THEY WERE DISCONNECTED. not a good idea

I love how people say stalls are the economy for SR, as if it was a good thing. Guess what, the economy is screwed up because of the stalls. If they just implement an auction house system then, both lag and the economy would be fixed. But that's a long rant for another time.

What exactly can we "do" while stalling? You can't do alchemy or pretty much ANYTHING but chat, and if there's no one worth talking to?

The only way I'd support this is if, when you set up a stall, you could log off and your char would remain there selling until you logged back in. There would be no lag then since it would all be on the server.

Otherwise it takes HOURS to sell things during off hours. Maybe during peak times you might be able to sell things quickly but 90% of the time it takes a while.

or better yet, eliminate stalling for longer than 30 minutes. i think this would actually fix the economy. you cant price everything really high and count on the fact someone with money will come along. you have to price things to sell.

SRO made it very clear in their statement there will not be an auction house.

A major deterrent for those hoping the game will improve.

Take it from an auction house user. Its the best thing since sliced bread.

And opens up a whole new playability of pricing, undercutting and economy.

You can't price outrageously and drive up the economy cuz you'll be undercut. The system checks itself.

Prices rise and fall related to demand. Playing the market is quite fun too.

Auction houses remove the LOCATION aspect. You couldn't profitably travel to DW to buy larger pots and sell them back in Jagan for profit. The stall system is great IMO, it is very much like real life, minus the internet. Kinda like how it was in 7 AD China.

Good.

One thing always hated. Logging in and seeing nothing but a blurry sea of text, stalls and garbage everywhere.

Can't even click to walk without clicking on something undesired. Takes all the beauty out of hotan.

And each one of them taking up a spot on the server.

Maybe it takes away location and an ocassional deal on an item with a noob price.

But it ads balance, competition, and incredible ease of selling/listing.

Imagine selling a 64+7 SOS and having the entire server being able to see / bid against eachother on AH.

The profit on that is minimal at best compared to the profit you could gain by being able to sell gear, and other items to the entire world. The time it takes to buy all those potions, either travel on foot to Jan or take the gate (5k btw), you could've easily went, gathered drops and sold them at an auction house for a larger profit.

So the complaints are then

1) Lag

2) Sea of sellers spoiling the scenery

1) Could be solved - when you set up a stall, you could log off and your char would remain there selling until you logged back in, for a max of like 8 hours or so. There would be no lag then since it would all be on the server.

2) Wouldn't be solved, but then again have you ever seen pictures of the town square marketplaces in 7AD China?

The argument of "small profit" and "you should be trying to do it MY way instead of however you want" is lame. One of the best things about this game is how FREE the market is, you can literally buy and sell ANYTHING you have. Let the market decide. Just like the real world. I wouldn't be opposed to ADDING an auction house but make it so that you have to pay fees to the auction house just like IRL. Just trying to dictate a game mechanic because you don't like it isn't really cool.

Sea of sellers spoiling the scenery? How do you get that? I said they were blocking NPCs. Nice try in twisting my words.

But I like youre idea of a combination though.

Have people be able to stall, set their own price where people can't compare it to similar items without leaving the stall, and pay no tax to have it viewed by people. Or post your item at an auction house, pay a tax but people can compare your price with others and have the ease of buying anywhere in the world as well as not having to sit in a stall.

That seems like a perfect idea.

It isn't contradictory. I oppose a global auction house, but since there are several who really want it I'd be happy with a compromise of adding one in addition to stalls but require a % fee on the sales from it.

Actually I was responding to this:

Not your post.

EDIT:
Furthermore, you are 100% right about the NPC thing. That is also a pain. Maybe establishing some "no stall zones" around NPCs and certain other areas would be nice.

If we do tis.. then ev1 will have more characters.. atleast 2 for stalling LOL... tat means more lag.. more ppl in town ... :banghead: :banghead:

Not a gud option...

Ah, sorry about the misunderstanding.

No-Stall Zone around NPCs

and a combo of non-taxed Stalls and taxed Auction Houses FTW

One, block more than two accounts from a single IP at any given time, two there wouldn't be lag because the server hosts the stall not the player, so it wouldn't depend on the player's connection. 100% of all lag I've seen comes from being near other players with bad connections. Or crappy computers. This would take that out of the equation.

Thats not what consumers want. If they had both systems, most would go to the AH for buying.

How bout the people looking for a female protector glove with blues, level xx ?

Select the fields on the left, set a level range or degree, and find every one for sale.

------------------------------------------------
I don't know why anyone would oppose to something so easy, that cleans up the server too.

In ours, it compares the item you hover over with the one your wearing. You can search with keywords, give it level ranges, rarity and catagory. And you can preview it on your character. You can also shift-click it to send a 'link' of it to a friend/guildmate. They can click the link and view the item stats too. Profits are mailed directly to you; check your mailbox in any town you like. Returned items too.

Its a lot of fun.

Im so glad I never have to leave a comp running overnight with my char in a stall, waking up and finding I was disconnected anyway.
