Windowed SRO

I always play SRO in windowed mode and turn on the Media Player, killing while listening to some tunes....

Problem is the bloody thing (Windows Media Player) always crashes after some time. It's the same with Winamp.

Any solutions to this or am I doomed to listening to SRO background music forever?

I have 512 memory, I have no problems playing music, I do use itunes though, I liked winamp back in the day but after a year of usiing itunes winamp is just crap, lol. And I only use WMP for watching vid's so if you want a music player go with itunes imo the latest one looks so much more sexier then winamp does, it works good with or without you using windows mode although I have been using windows mode latley I have no problems with itunes at all.

i had this problem once... i think it was when i was playing space cowboy.

yeah that was it, winamp always crashed and WMP wouldn't let me skip tracks. it was weird.

tried reinstalling winamp? just a thought, either that or hook your sound system up to a different computer or, with one of those adapters most come with, plug it into a cd play or playstation 2 or something and play CD's :]

Am I the only one who likes wmp?
I am quite satisfied about wmp 11.
It took some time to get used to some things and change a bit with the settings.

WMP FTW.

Huh...

Dont laugh...

(O.K. It's bad so go ahead)

I use an XP 1700+ with 1 GB of value ram w/GeForce Ti-4200 on XP Pro

I have no problems playing silkroad and running winamp or windows media player...

maybe its something to do with the drivers for the newer equipment?

Just a thought...

Also I do have it "windowed" but it stays locked in the far left side so I set my screen for 1600x1024 and use 1280x1024 for silkroad. (Adjust screen for normal size view. Any thoughts as to why it wont "look" windowed? Silkroad settings too high?

Set the ingame screenthingy (can't remember the word in English) to under your normal.

Press WinKey + ALT + ENTER. Don't remember if it's alt or ctrl.

Well if you're using Winamp, what's the point in having SRO in windowed mode? Winamp has global hotkeys, so when you're in SRO, you should be able to hit ctrl+alt+pageup/pagedown to scroll through songs, and ctrl+alt+home/end/insert for stop/play/pause.

Even without the global hotkeys, you could alt-tab to your media player to switch songs. I see no reason to have windowed mode at all.

And also Itunes has the ability to change it to a miniplayer and let it always put on top. You just move it to where ever you want and you can see which songs play and skip etc. I placed mine just above the window on the right.

I have never had issues doing that and my PC isn't top notch either.

I have an athlon dual core 3800, radeon 9800 pro and 2 monitors connected on the same computer and I can see a movie on 1 monitor at same time that I play full screen on the other monitor without any problem.

PD: just 512MB ram.

Well open your taskmanager (CTRL+ALT+DEL) and in the Process Tab right click your player of choice (mplayer.exe?, winamp.exe) and set its priority to high...
hope thatll work, dont have that problems

I always use Winamp. Install the lite versions so it doesn't eat up a lot of resources. I never had Winamp crash on me. Keep in mind, I have a really bad computer....I'm sure it's worst than a poor kid's computer in Afghanistan.....it's like several years old and has very low ram.

Also try Foobar2000. It's a very simple player but it's very well liked by a lot of people.
