I wrote this last week for a different intended audience, but now that GameGuard is currently disabled (yes it IS disabled), it applies to EVERYONE playing SRO.

Silkroad Awareness Thread - No GameGuard -> Read This!

If you are really worried about losing your account due to this in the mean time, don't play SRO again until they re-add GameGuard. If you do play you are putting your account at risk, unfortunately. It has always been this way when GG was not enabled, but the intended point is to raise awareness.

Just sharing this here because I know a lot of people have invested too much into their accounts just to have it taken away because of a stupid flaw in the [currently unprotected] game. If anyone has any questions or comments on it I'm around.

1st of all, u are a very good programmer, dude.
2nd, u dont need to warn ppl. If they want to bypass GG, they have to accept the risk that none is protecting their privacy. Bypass GG is already against the law of the game, and the account should be banned. They have no right to claim being hacked.

That's the point of this thread though Silo, everyone playing SRO right now, legit or not has GameGuard "bypassed" because JoyMax took it out. I don't know how long it will take before they re-add it, to which this thread is useless and your #2 is absolutely correct, but people always are anxious to get back on and grind after inspections. Since JMs response time is all but "speedy", everyone is vulnerable for the next however many hours if not days

I know nothing about these things, so thanks for sharing. I rather be cautious and wait a few hours to know the situation, then risk it all for an hour or so of gameplay right now. Weird they haven't posted about gameguard being down at the main site.

Too many loosers out there who are covered in glue and grab things that don't belong to them.
