Is it possible to get Hacked just from knowing your IGN?

I Keep getting random PM's
about getting hacked
i talked with some guy today
1st he asked for my MSN
2nd he told me to search after some Runescape hack at the internet
then when i started to curse him he said
wait few days you will see
its really starting to piss me off =.=
and its not the 1st time im getting some random "i will hack your account" PM's
so its possible to do it ? just from knowing your ingame name

they need your login name
Unless it's the same as ur ign. then ur in trouble.

even if they have your account name it's not easy. Noobs like to talk big. Tell them you've screen shotted it and are submitting it as a bug report... and do just that.

lets say its 1Love , so he cant do anything about that i hope =\
becase many people getting hacked :|

Nah, ur IGN is useless to them if its not the same as ur login name.

Well, everybody knows everyone else's ingame name already, right? You just have to go the city and look at everybody's ingame name. If that were true, nobody would be playing SRO anymore. What's needed to access an account is not the iingame name, but rather the login name. Make sure your ingame name is not the same as your login name. At any rate, even with your login name, they still need your password. If you password is not easy to guess, you account is very safe.

Brute force attacks will not work so well if you're getting stopped every time for 10 minute intervals.
