in light of the recent post by morningdew on sro.net, i thought id try and make a thread to give them some kind of encouragement; to let them know that, while there still may be problems with the game, we appreciate their efforts.

i for one have definitely noticed an improvement with how long it takes to log in, and, until recently, an improvement with lag. so lets just say gg gms

please try and keep all immature, useless, and otherwise obnoxious posts out of this thread **cough** sb **cough**

GJ with the ccf issue.
BUT u lost the war against the bots. BOTTERS FTW.
Ban the 8D botting SoSuners.
Sue(Spelling?) the power lvl and start the 2nd bot war and win it.
That would make my life. ^^

For such an incredibly small company, this game is amazing. If anyone here played 1 year ago (January 2006), then you'd remember that there were only 3 servers (4th one opened in January), Troy, Xian, and Aege. Now there's 20+ and most of the login issues and lag have been resolved. Yes we still get spikes from time to time, but 1 year ago the lag was a constant 5+ second delay for anyone in North America. We've also gone through 2 cap raises since then. We went from 60 to 70, and from 70 to 80. They have released the item mall, and given us a couple of events.

The problem with the community is that it only sees the hardwork when it results in a change with the game. The community has no idea how much work it takes just to KEEP the game running. It takes a massive workforce and many many labor hours each week just to maintain a playable server.

MMO's are one of the hardest games to support. Give Joymax credit. They are a pretty small company when it comes to gaming, yet they're supporting a huge community.

no kidding, take a look on Xfire once in the top games, I started playing like a Year ago and never heard of it, quit for like 5 months, come back to play like 2 months ago and BAM its the 4th top game played on Xfire, thats amazing for a free MMO. CONGRATZ GM's

If you played WoW instead you could be level 64 by now.

I hope your being paid at least $75,000 a year for that kind of hours.

In that case, I'd look for a job at Blizzard.

Despite dedication or hours worked, SRO hasn't changed.

I no longer have to:

-PvP botters, train near botters or worry about who's botting
-Worry about CCFing and silk buying
-Spend rediculous money on silk
-Listen to the kids on unmonitored global chat

I drew a sketch of my outlook on SRO while I was at the office. Later, I will scan it and upload it here.

the reason why its on the top its like you said, FREE mmo.
other free games - counterstrike 1.6 and source are on the xfire top list.
if xfire was java compatible i wouldnt be suprised if runescape was on top also.
oh not to mention in sro ppl stall so they leave sro/xfire on overnite.


But yes a long time ago the lag was worse and logging on was impossible.

GMs are not the problem, the problem is the a$$holes who play this game, there are nice ppl on every server, but they are greatly outnumbered by inmature idiots, and no, I am not referring to turks. Bots suck, but they are sadly part of the game, just like scammers, get used to it =(
As mentioned in a previous post, this game is really something for such a small company, my only real complaint would be the lack of security, but I've heard KSRO has no such issue, so there is always hope on a next update =)

Yes, they have done a decent job recently. But they can't just think. Ooh we banned 9,000 botters, we rock, they are all gone now.

2 Weeks later, look at the state of the game again, we basically back at square one.

We need to have a weekly banlist or something, instead of it happening every 3 months.

Apart from that, GJ on the improvements lately

Weekly banlist would be good. I am farming at hyungo and I am suprised if someone isn't a bot. Thanks for trying tho?

Right-o. It's a constant war with the botters, so they should patrol the servers as such. Minimum of one server bot sweep per week. Since GM can't be everywhere at once, why not give the players a rating system, or take on some deputies? That would rock...say deputies wouldn't have the ability to ban an account, but could block it until the case was reviewed by a GM. Or solution two. More GMs. One for every server to handle all aspects of game.

They're doing a great job now, ftw. Hats off to them! I despise that powerlevel company and the bot sellers/gold sellers. I hope they all end up in court.

Thank you all GM's and all Joymax employee's. I know how hard it can be to satisfy so many with the hands of so few.

I know that you can't magically make all lag dissapear forever.
I know you can't make all botters go away and stay away.
I know you can't prevent people from trying new methods of scamming others.
I know you can't just make the servers bigger in order to fit everybody.

*Wonders why people complain about lag and at the same time complain about server capacity?*

Well i wont say any poetry for the GM's i ll give them +1 for improving the game in a very short while. and making it a very good wellknown global MMORPG Gratz GM's good work hope u get a RAISE or something

Negative comments won't occur if the game really runs like the way it should be. Don't you think ?

JM is overworked so they can't put in any more hours.
Can't hire new employees.
Other work that needs to be done.

Basically JM is overworked and aren't feeling appreciated, therefore, don't expect anything more.
