Hello. This is Silkroad Online.
In order to strengthen our security standards regarding the security issues that have been arising recently, the following changes have been applied.
We will try our best to become a Silkroad Online that provides stable service.
Recently a post has been made in the forums stating about the hacking case, and many users seem to be feeling uneasy about this fact.
Not to overlook even the slightest possibility, Silkroad Online has decided to eliminate large portions of the functions in the forum to unconditionally strengthen our security.
We are aware of the inconvenience this will cause in forum use, but we ask of our users' understanding for a more stable security.
Thank you.
I was actually about to make a few posts with fake accounts on the matter today.

Doesnt matter if they exist or not.
People loose their accounts. Doesnt matter in what way the loose it.
All we can do for now is to:
Not give out our ID/Pass to anyone.
Change pass often.
Make a hard-to-hack pass.

depends how resourceful these "hackers" are. A lot of them seem to be using simple exploits such as quote + bruteforce, but those don't seem to be very bright to be honest or there would be many more accounts hacked. The ones I'm actually worried about the most are the ones who use party invite or exchange, because if Joymax is indeed encrypting the information and the hackers can decode it that easily, we have big issues on our hands...

Simple.
You used to be able to quote someone and it would show thier username RATHER than char id.
Bruteforcing?
You would have to make an entirely new client. 999.9999% of the people play this game couldnt do that. And the people that actually can, dont, due to a waste of time.

Um bruteforce the account account using the website? That way you don't need to make a client??? And you can probably try your wrong password more than 5 times.

Where is the basis that if they have the skill and programs, people can get vital information from my comp/conn through party/exchange?
It seems kinda...well impossible to me, but I only have a general, surface knowledge of programing and computers.
I won't believe that stuff until I see a full on explanation. From what my RL friends who know more than I do about programming tell me, it ain't possible.
