Shut up noob. There isn't any way to hack the silkroad client. And just so you don't sound stupid next time you post, a dll is a data file. They are used by windows to store info such as icon libraries.

I've heard of rumors that its possible to become hacked by trading or being in a party with a total stranger... Is this possible at all? Or is it a false rumor? Please bear in mind that i have no idea how this stuff works.

yes, it's true, and my friend was hacked after trading with the hacker, how can it be a coincidence? and the hacker can even kick u out the server (=disconnect u) so he can get in. That's what happened to my friend

So is this done through a complet trade?? i.e paying for the item and having it in your inventory. Or is it done just by viewing the item in the exchange window??? This sucks so now i cant trade with other random people.

Not true. If this was true there would be MANY more "hacked" accounts than there already is. Most people that spread these rumors know none of the extensive details about hacking or the level of Joymax's security. Joymax's security isn't the best but it isn't bad either.

I guess you dont trade alot during a day. I do 5 or 6 trades with people a day. IT MIGHT be a possibility but 99.10 percent of the people that lose their accounts are not hacked. Also what server do you play on that every one does stalls to exchange?

Stalls are dont to avoid price scams not HACKING.
DLL injection? You mean sql injection? Server hacking? Through a trade?
I think not. Before you go to flame me or anyone else, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE.
NOT. POSSIBLE.
Your friend put his info somewhere. That simple.
If you actually belive you can hack someone through a trade then cut the cord to the internet, please.

who cares if it's possible or not? I only know that my friend was hacked after trading with someone (hacker). And how can u explain that the hacker can disconnect the player, if it's not hack?
Playing until lvl 57, he is not such a noob who know nothing and give away his info to lose all his hard work.
If u underestimate and protect the hackers like this, i wish someday, your account will be hacked

So the trader or tradee doesnt change the item/amount of gold.

I am sorry to disagree, but i am afraid it is terribly possible. The way it is done is that hackers intercept tcp/ip packets sent to and from the silkroad server. They then decode these packets through a process called "reverse engineering." It is even possible for these hackers to send false packets to the server telling the server to spawn an sos item or something at a particular location. Luckily, Joymax safeguards this by generating an id number for each item in the game server-side. If it can't find the id number for an item, it gets deleted. However, it is still possible for hackers to gain one's username and password by decoding packets because of a known bug in which the user's username and password are sent to another user's computer through tcp/ip packets during an accepted trade or party application. Very few people are 1337 enough to know how to do this, but the threat still exists. Now you know.
My friend was hacked a few months ago. He was totally clean, never even thought about d/l a bot, had virus software installed and running, and checked for keyloggers before and after the hacking incident. It is my personal belief that he was hacked in this fashion of obtaining account data through intercepting tcp/ip packets during an accepted trade or party application.

I'm pretty sure that JoyMax stores the passwords in md5 has so there is no way that the hackers would be able to get the passwords out of that, even if they did find a way to "steal" the passwords. What they could do is get the username and then bruteforce it.
