Reinforce - once and for all, what is it?
Posted: Sat Dec 30, 2006 3:00 pm
by Tallrik
Ever since i started playing this game, people have been claiming that Phys/Mag reinforce affects how much damage you will do.
I even see people everywhere printing actual formulas for how the exact damage is calculated (altho so far, none of these have seemed to be accurate, and the persons who have posted them can never answer of how they got it

).
Anyway, im
very suspicious about stuff users normally post (such as formulas for calculating damage), and I usually only listen to what GM's/Other Joymax Employes have stated in the past.
While browsing through the silkroadonline.net forums some time ago, i found a sticky with a player explaining all the stats a weapon can have, and in that thread he stated that:
"Phys reinforce affects how fast durability will go down on your weapon when using Phys. Attacks, and Mag Reinforce works the same way on mag. attacks"
For those who did'nt know, the forum mods on silkroadonline.net sometimes temporarily Sticky good (and i can only asume correct) information for the players when they see it.
So which one is true?
EDIT: Please state from where you got the information
I really don't think people who are guessing will be of any help in resolving this

are you sure about that?
whats this hype about reinforce times your str blah blah for dmg

str is about physical aspect. The higher, the better your crits, physical resistance, physical damge, life span.
int is about magical aspect. The higher, the better your magic attack, magical resistance, and mana span.
since magic is SOoooo strong. many decided to go for pure int, one hit KO, (if).
another hint*
if u saw someone with garments, he's more to str
if u saw someone with armors, he's more to int
(doesnt apply to everyone, only lvl 30 over, experiance acknowledge)

Please just shut the hell up I'm getting sick and tired of reading your bullshit filled posts, you know nothing about the game, your replys are never related to the subjects, and you're just a moron.

reinforce affects damage... just get 2 weapons with the same phy/mag attack but different reinforce. u will see the damage difference..

false

false
and all are false.......
Phy/Mag have nothing to do with durability, but with your stat base. It's the bonus of damage added when u equip your weapon. Here is an exemple :
The mag power of my blade 56+3 is
705. With a mag reinforce
166.3%, and with
207 Int comes from my build, the bonus mag power when equip the weapon is
207*166.3%=344.2. So my final power when equip the weapon is
705+344.2=1049.2.
mag power (when weapon equiped) = mag power (weapon) + mag reinforce (weapon) * Int
Same with phy reinforce but apply with str.
Same with reinforce for defensive equip
PS: The mod are noobs, always tell something that they dont even have proof
just kidding .....

wow nice, im not going to npc any more of those tablets, that could really help make a wep alot more powerful. The funny thing is so many people dont even regard this stat and this is what basically causes pures to do more damage than hybrids in phys or mag because the reinforce is based on the user's build.

well, according to your formula...
your blade's phys power is 461, with phys reinforce 112.1%, 127 str, that would mean...
127 * 112.1% + 461 = 603.367
could you explain why that doesn't match with your 936 phys attack power?

you forgot to add the %+ from weapon mastery lvl

Good point so the str formula adds that factor to it while the int formula doesnt so its technically not the same. Now i think this makes sense.

shousuke is totally right. U have to add the +% from mastery weapon for phy power. But for mag power, as u have 3 forces, the system doesnt know which +% mag mastery to choose, so it's doesnt appear in the formula.

actually my friend and former guildie has had this theory for quite a while, but I always read the "+ mag atk" as "*" by accident lol. Lemme try it out with my char just to confirm ^^. Thanks!

so if you could provide the weapon mastery lvl at the time, we might be able to confirm something.
btw, this brings up another point. since you say only the +% from weapon mastery is taken into account, does that mean with the new cap, we only need to get 1 weapon tree to 80?

didnt you already only need to get one up?
anyways from this, we can calculate that his weapon mastery is about level 54 (because 54% increase) which is appropriate for his level (56) so this formula, its very nice.
[as for the discussion of hybrids, hybrid attacks with imbue on as well, so its using phys+mag rather than using only mag or phys with a very weak mag]

i dont understand that question but how it works is...
(str points * reinforce %) + phys attack of the weapon =
X
then you multiply
X by the percentile the active weapon tree adds (whatever level it is = the %)
X * mastery % =
Y
then you take
X+
Y and thats your overall phys attack
so for a level 80 wep tree you would multiply
X by 80%

With one small flaw. You do not multiply it by 80% ( 0.8 ) when u have an 80 wep mastery--- rather, you multiply it by 1.8
EDIT: actually nvrmind u did that

I think lol.

Okay...I excell at reading and writing, so therefore I suck at math. God I hate all of this formula stuff...but I do understand it after multiple re-readings. If NuclearSilo is correct, I am very grateful to him or clearing this up. I can't wait to get home and check it out.
