of a newb and I'd really wanna know how to do magic but i'm just clueless, your help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

if by magic you mean nukes, those are skills you get at level 30 when your int based.

Imbue + buffs (swirly things around and beneath you) are to be added by putting Skill points in the fire/lightning/ice tree. (Skill window opens when you press - S - )

I really can't explain this :/

every level u get u can put 3 points into either INT or STR on the top left of the game the cross thing put al of your points into INT ..yes 3 poitns each time every time...get a spear for high damage but die easy ..or get a sword for lower damage but survive better IMO if ur going offence (nuker) u go all out not half heartedly ..so go spear :p and get 2 of 3 forces ..fire (high damagE) light (splash damage decent damage) ice (freezing / frostbite make enemy slower but low damagE)
