How to enjoy playing silkroad.

If you wish to play it for fun.
>>you can try to master it all. HAve a secondary weapons like bow. (if you're a glavier or a blader) or preferably, you can try to use all the weapons. why? its fun to change your weapon so you dont have to get bored to use only one weapon.
disadvantages: you'll have a weak character, you'll waste too much sp on all the mastery
If you wish to play it for social
>> purchase global chat and be an active trader. well, have some business partners. i find it more interesting to play silkroad with something that you can put your luck on. to be socially active in silkroad, having business partner is essential. you can trade, exchange thoughts, and many other stuff. theres benefit while being a a business man in silkroad. though, if you're good, you can buy SOS items from your business partner for cheaper price (thats what i get) and plz think before you choose one. you might think that person is good but on the contrary, he/she might be a scammer!!
If you wish to play it for fame
>> easy. build a strong character. have 0 level gap and go all the way up and show off in all places. how? easy. just do some shout out at jangan or downhang "hey..i'm the strongest in this server"(though, dont do this anyway..lol). I assume that fame can be achieved through your action in game. to be infamous, scam people. to be famous, help people. kind and positive and outstanding socially active, help ya to be famous.
if you wish to play it for super strength and pvp
>> go SP farming. fill in your skills and go hybrid/pure int... bladers usually have high defence, pure int have less life. you can boom, he's dead or he boom, you're dead. But Pvp is the best bu building hybrid Str. i tried several build characters in other server, and yay...str/blade/lightning is the best. shadow walk, lightning fast, super defence, tremendous skill. wowowo...this is the great pvp build. though i have about 11 lvl 60+ character now. (not showing off, just being realistic) i recommend you to build this.
PS: IF U HAVE A GUILD, WHY DONT YA BOND UP WITH YOUR MAMBERS.
I'ma guild master in red sea and i find it difficult to go around and done things with my guild mambers. so far theres only one person in my guild that i chat with always, but all of em like..oh yeah, i'm in his guild, who cares, i'm gonna make my new guild later anyway...so i really pissed off when i knew some of them really ignore the guild notice. SO...i organized..COMPETITIONS! horse race, guild points achievement, etc. We do have horse race sumtimes and the bond in my guild is getting better. although some of them cant really be there, but its FUN!!

well somehow, you need some amount of money to do this. Hey, it makes the game more fun!!! and i really enjoy playing rather than grinding or farming. though..
Try muting the original SRO music. Open windows media player and on SOme HARDCORE MUSIC!!! Yay... you feel more energy while playing with diffrent music. Rock aggravates the intensity. Hip-hop aggravates..uh...i dontknow. just Try it anyway..its Fun!!

I don't think having secondary weapons would be more fun, instead having another character or another game would be better, if you get bored.
The main reason why Silkroad is fun for me is Friends, actually thats the only reason i play it...

I posted this on my guild forum... it pretty much sums up my current opinion on SRO.
As for the inactivity in the main guild; I think this is pretty obvious. I mean common, I used to be on almost 24/7 and now I'm barely on. I believe the reason that I'm barely on is the same for everybody else;
1. A lot of us are in school atm.
2. The game is getting boring; no cap increase, too many pimped sos players, and nothing to do. I've done everything I could have done while waiting for the stinking cap; I murdered people with my main, I traded/hunted/thieved, I waited for uniques, and grinded a bit more. I mean common, I've been 70 now for like 4 or more months.
3. Other people got bored before me and took a break. Inactivity breeds further inactivity. Inactivity also reduces the number of fun things we do in our guild [although yesterdays monster spawning event was refreshing ^^]
4. FF12 came out! Much better then sro ^^
5. NO UPDATES, NO UPDATES, NO UPDATES -- I mean common, how many of us hadn't already been promised the cap raise in august [JM actually said that lol.], the job update, the gambling update... The list goes on. Every single time I logon hoping for something new, I get the same shit. The only reason I really still play this game is because atleast the members in this guild are refreshing. The game is getting old, the only reason that's still worth playing it is the community.
6. FOS. Who isn't playing the european version on ksro? I know I am. MatBiec has, Kanior too. THere's plenty of us floating around over there too.

I like it, but recently my life in-game went to cr**. Me and My guild have been scammed twice in past month.
It seems that you can't trust anyone even if you were friends.
Two people our guild leader and everyone else in guild trusted them.
One person scamed saying he was going to + our items for us.
The other stole page full of SoS, mostly 2nd and 3rd degree, 3mil, and a bunch of high level +ed items from guild storage, and banned everyone from Teamspeak.
So people on Babel:
Don't give items to MrTerrorist
Don't let XM_Renegate or Vanessa12 into guild(same person) or if you do don't give them storage rights

I would quit the game, the day I couldn't talk on vent with my sro pal's.
I can not imagine grinding without soem random guy shouting random hilarious stuff in vent. Guild wars without voice communication hell no.

I believe this applies to all online games. If I didn't have a clan w/ts in CS I don't think I'd still be playing. There's so much more of a deeper lvl of communication when it's vocal. It's like even though you're playing online w/other people, you're really not. It's just you in your seat. But when people are talking to you, it's like you're not alone.

There is so much more to gaming than just the game play itself.
I mean get Vent and talk to your guild.
Organize Union events like castle siege.
Noob char races. Start a new char and see who gets to 20 first.
Make a Union site. Ours is teh roxxor.

Recruit ppl.
Dress as a noob char in low level gear and put on a hunter/thief/trader suit and see how many ppl try to kill you. (Works best if you are not well known. Pisses me off that I cant play this game)
Get PS or PSP and learn to make sigs for ppl on the forums. This can be really time consuming.

i play only for fun (trash talking is part of that fun), i just enjoy talking to my guild and r/l friends while on the game and its a fun thing to do to relax after school/work/get home from being out.

Umm, positive people don't talk shit where it's not needed. Ie following me in threads and posting neg stuff even though I haven't done the same to you or towards the threads. The thing I hate most in this world is hypocrites, and that's exactly what you're looking like.

U know what keeps me in SRO, all the friends i made over the past, even when my RL friends quit. They kept me in the game, just like all of you keep me here, the great community one is brought into. Its hard to let go off, even if the game its based in, is not the best it can be..
So its not my desire to become the best, i think me personally am already well known throughout the SRO community... So thats enough for me.. I on occasion get the odd PM saying "Wo.. are u the KeyJ" the one who made the guide... or sumthig like that Which is like, a lil bonus for me... but its the friends i made that make it hard for me to leave...
So yah thats my answer..
O n guys... the flaming... no allowed.. so calm it down yah?
