New Player, Server Question.

So I just downloaded and start playing the other day on a random server, so that I could get a feel for the game. Now that I've found that I like it so far, my question is: Should I wait for the new server Pacific where everyone is on equal grounds, except botters and experienced players game knowledge, or should I join an established server like Xian with an established, albeit probably inflated economy?
edit: Also I'm not coming over to SRO to join any friends so I have no "connections"

I say, play on any server right now, just to learn the basics in the game then move to the new server when it's open..

well, its up to you really. if i were you i would probably join the new server, or at least one of the new servers. or maybe try to go to the guilds and clans section and see which people you like from there, maybe try to make some friends on the forum, then decide on your server.

El Derado seems like most abandoned server as of right now (still a lot of players, just as not as many as other servers), so I'd say go there, best place for you to start!

One of the larger reasons I was considering one of the older servers is because of lack of forums here for the two newer servers.
Thank you everyone for all of the input.

Alright now another question, any one here on a new server or other server that uses voice comm(Ventrilo etc) or willing take a new guy into a guild and take him under their wing to answer those questions that aren't answered in the Chinese tutorial and expedite my learning.

Well, first of all, you might wanna make a presentation of yourself here on the forums
Number2, We can answer almost any question here. I'd recommend you to join El Dorado/Pacific, eventhough they're new servers you'll have a bigger chance of "succeeding" there.
And, welcome to silkroadforums!

Inflated Economy - heard that from before I started SRO and appeared to be true once I got in game and saw how the eco worked along with addition of the massive complaining of botting.
As for knowing Xian is an established server, a few things clued me in there. A number of the guide posters or people with high lvl characters were labeled as Xian. Also the post and topic count for the Xian boards here was almost twice as high as any other server.
Citing the number of complaints about botting again. I just made the assumption that botters would be all over Pacific when it came out to fund the online gold selling companies or just for the lazy bastids that don't want to grind for themselves.
I'm new to SRO, but I've been MMO'ing for ~10 years now. When ever it was that I bought Betrayal at Krondor that had a 30 day trial for The Realm in it.
edit: Also could someone point me in the direction of what 9 gap actually is/why it is. This is was I think I've figured out, but I also think I'm wrong. I think its either 9 levels above a mob level and grinding on that mob for sp, but what keys me to thinking that I'm wrong is that I've seen mention that the stronghold(assuming here the bandit stronghold with lvl 12s and 16s in it) is the best place to do this at lvl16 thus its not a 9 lvl gap. So if anyone could help me out here I'd be greatly appreciative.
Hurray for editting edits, reading up on the 9 gap now.

Yeah, the oldest servers are more stable than any other sro servers here. But to be more successful, I would also say join one of the new servers.
First off, I suggest you joining any open server at the moment and test outyour knowledge and learn from mistakes and new obtained information. After you have done so, I will be happy to give you a big invitation to join Pacific and my guild
