AStral help and enhancing weapon

hey i would like to know what astrals do and what u need to make hugher weapon dmg and improve crits and stuff thanks 
astrals make it so a weapon/armor/shield cannot go down in its + after + 5
for example: if you have a + 5 sword if you have an astral on it and try to + 6 it, if it fails, the sword won't go to + 0 but will stay at + 5, but the astral will be gone.
For crits and damage, you need stones. Like if you have a lvl 24 blade with a crit of 2 you can either make a crit stone using elements or buy one. The crit stones are called stone of challenge. Sometimes though it may say success but go down or not move at all (which is rlly fkin lame)
