Insults concerning the word botter.

Ok, first of all, this is NOT a thread complain "oh boo hoo a botter ksed me

". This thread is about how people act when the word botter is mentioned, and what to or what not to do if you think you are near a botter before turning yourself purple.
People act rather rudely when your trying to find out if they're a bot, or when they're trying to find out if you're a bot.
Lesson 1: "Are you a botter?"
Ok you short tempered legit players, this one is aimed at you. The question, "Are you a botter?" is
NOT NOT NOT an insult, so don't get mad if somebody asks you this and you are legit. If somebody says "Hey,
your username here is a botter," go ahead and erupt with nasty comments and censor bypasses. But not if somebody asks you whether or not you are a botter, they're just trying to find out. Hey, why don't you be grateful that they didn't attack you and turn purple.
Lesson 2: "Should I attack?"
If you think you see a bot(ter), do NOT attack (yet). Wait another moment, then
ASK if they're a botter. If they don't respond after the third time you ask, then attack.
Lesson 3: "Ok, I have my caravan, and a theif is about to spawn."
Ok, so you have CORRECTLY identified a botter. Now you want have the stuff needed to pop them. Ask any
LEGIT players to leave at this moment. The bot, who is a obviously a bot, shouldn't leave. If they do, you made a mistake, whoopsy. If they don't leave, pop them, then KILL your theif, and tell the others it is ok to come back in.
These three steps will make your life, and many many players lives lots lots easier.
Please, leave CONSTRUCTIVE critism, not insults.
Now I leave you with three words-
BOTTERS MUST DIE

This is more of a thread to let me say what was on my mind and why I'm pissed off because people don't have the common sense to do the above three things.

He brings up good points that other people's crying doesn't entail. The general idea is the same though, yes.

First of all, phoenix, I do not bot, and I am not complaining about actions to prevent botting. I am all for making bots suffer for cheating at a game because they're to lazy to play. I'm complaining about actions that hurt more legit players than botters and simple ways to fix them.
Mabite, I did not say "Don't attack botters." I said ask first, because often times, a legit player is attacked, and one (sometimes more) potions are wasted simply because somebody didn't ask first.
Blackchocob, thank you. It does explain methods to kill botters, but I'm focused more on the way to not kill legit players and only kill the botter.

good pointers. the main point for me is that if someone is gona kill a suspected botter, he/she must first be sure that its a botter by trying to contact talk to the suspected user first. as some people said in other threads, killing botters usually is a waste of time, they just respawn at the city and then back to farming and if its a gold bot they usually delevel them on purpose to keep getting drops from x mob.

So when you see a botter you go back to town to grab a load then head back out to where they were? Or you just cruise around with a 1* load looking for them?
Seems like a good use for the 30 or so summon scrolls I've accumulated =p

I'm not saying this is what I do (I just get murderer status). I'm saying that some people who do this get tunnel vision and stop caring about the legit players they are trying to help, and let the theif kill them after the botter is dead.

And I think it's about time to leave SP alone, I'm tired of clicking that thread thinking it's new because the title has been changed

Notice the word constructive critism. As you can tell by my character level located in my signature, I just started playing a couple months ago (gone through four characters now.)
Next time, read the thread.

I don't think you should attack a person who doesn't respond. It doesn't mean he/she is a botter.
I myself don't like to respond while grinding. Bare in mind ppl could hide their chat bar. Which means you could be wrong. =)

To be honest i dont think botters care 2 fudging cents about being called a botter.
They obviously accepted to do it, and they are well aware of the fact that they actually are a bottarrrh.
Maybe they see something cool in it. Breaking the rules, risking getting a ban? I dunno.

I've had people ask me if I'm a bot when I play with my 2nd character. I think it's because of the name I gave him(UB6_IB9). If you don't get the meaning of the name

it does sorta of sound like a bot name.

Sbdlm, I make POSTIVE the person I suspect of being a botter is a botter before I attack, and I will make that person see what I'm saying.
Thanks for sharing your experiences Babel
That's a good point zexy. If botters really cared when they were called a bot, they'ed stay at their computer to prevent themselves from being called a bot. Also why legit players take it so personally.
Heh, that is an awesome name Ivan...

The thing I dont understand is why must the players carry the responsibility of stopping bots rather than the GMs who could easily take a 30-second Frap video as evidence and ban them. I don't think it's that hard to spot a botter anyway especially with names like "wrfgdsh," "reastga," and group gold bots like "huangjie10," 11, 12 ,13, and so on. (huangjie bots are well known in Olympus as a group of female ice-bow gold bots)

I don't know if this works for all bots, but I have seen bots leave giants they're attacking after someone knocks the giants down. That's pretty much 100% proof they're a bot.

khang, because botters are a pain in the ass to try and grind near.

Bot-babysitters are worse than regular botters
They're at their computer, watching their screen, but they're letting a bot play for them.

if you see a botter just send a report to admins, otherwise w/e you do htey won t be blocked. killing them is ueless unless if u make them in murderer status, they ll come bk and bot agn. also when u atk a bot and go purple there can be a retard who can zerk you from behind ^^'.

If someone steals my giant, and they start doing KD's on it, I move on. You do better to grind efficiently on normal monsters than stand there trying to get a limited number of hits in on a giant.
