Hi all.
im newish here.
anyway...i just want to open a discussion about joymax and silk.

i see lots of ppl say that we shouldnt pay money for silk until joymax fixes up silkroad.

but has anyone thought the joymax is a big company. they have made many rpgs....eg runescape, rakion*, silkroad, kal* and probably a lot more but they r the ones i know about.
y would u not pay silk....if u can buy silk but dont because u think joymax should fix the game first think of this...
joymax is pretty big, very big in korea and the other asian countries.

if joymax dosnt make enough money out of a game y would they bother to fix it??? they only look at the money value of the game.

think about that.
discuss plz...and if it dosnt make sense i'll try again...am in kinda a rush.

*i think they made these 2.

Lol. they do have other games

http://www.joymax.com/joymax_eng/produc ... lkroad.asp

(there are subsections at the top you will have to click on to get to the others)

But silkroad is the only online one there.

But i see your point

if joymax dosnt make enough money out of a game y would they bother to fix it???

Ive said this before but people are too childish to give a crap.

This is the most stupid thing i ever heard..

Why would you pay for something if you are not satisfied with it?It's not charity..
Like any other game you want to buy, do you pay for bad game and wait for them to make it better? or you just go and buy a good game?
If they want the money they should care more about the customer, they should provide a stable service. not wait till the customer pays money then work on the service..

this is an rpg. it is and will be forever changing. but depending on how much money they make will depend on how fast and "good" the changes are.

a big example is blizzard...they did WoW... now they make losts of money because they charge u every month or so, and charge u to buy the game. so they make heaps of money...and they r well known in "australia".
and they are updating the game heaps. and even brought out an expansion pack for it.

where as silkroad/joymax i only just heard about the game this yr probably about mid yr. before then i never even knew it existed. and i stumbled across it by accident.

but in korea it is very popular. lots of ppl play and lots of ppl "pay".

and sro r bringing out an "expansion" as u could call it....its EURO. look they r doing sumthing.....not just sitting there twiddling there thumbs. they must be trying to improve the game......

i have read this a couple hundred times at gaia (http://www.gaiaonline.com). we dont spend money, they dont fix thing... then they get poor, sad, depressed and close the game, erase everything and start a ebay like company using the old servers... well in fact i see the thing like this: we dont pay, they dont do anything (actually some of us can stop buying silk but the ones that are really adicted to game will keep buying silk and so, stop buying 10$ a month wont change anything). we pay, they dont do anything. lets say there 2 cases when they would do something, probably the same thing for the 2 cases. Cases a: everyone stops buying silk, they sell the company for big profit and start a new one. cases b: everybody start buying silk and a amount of real users (and the new real users of the kind that are willing to buy silk like maniacs) outgrow the servers capacity, they sell the company for even great profit and start a new one.

If you don't like the game then don't pay for it.

What I think the OP was trying to say is that boycotting silk is more likely to cause the game to die rather than bringing about changes you want.

I'm probly better at runescape than anyone else on this entire forum. Anyone a high lvl there? BTW it made me laugh when the topic starter listed runescape under JM. Jagex kicks the shit out of JM in the customer service department.

Anyway on topic...in America you have to earn the buyer's dollar. Period. So far, not only have Joymax NOT earned my dollar, they've earned a having-their-manager-talked-to as well. Too bad I can do nothing about either. I mean in RL you stop shopping at the place that in your opinion didn't earn your buck...but there is no other SRO down the street or in the next town 5 miles further.

There's a simple economical rule: If a company spends more than it earns on its product, it will die. If the ratio is near equal, it will stay the same and stagnate(our predicament probably). If they take in alot of profit, they can spend more money and further the development of the product. If Silk were boycotted effectively, it's not a question. SRO would close. So we've got to keep buying silk.

At the same time, if, as alot of people think, they spend all of the money they make off of ISRO on the other versions(namely KSRO), well...we're kinda screwed. The only things you can do are hope, cry, or quit.

I hear lots of people complaining how kSRO gets tons of stuff before them but hey: people in Korea buy silk too, and obviously they want to introduce stuff to their home crowd and test if there before sending it out to the rest of the world and potentially embarrassing themselves. I think we in iSRO whine a lot more than in kSRO. If most of you whiners were in kSRO, (im not saying u black) you would probably be whining about how you only have the same number of skills that iSRO has even though they got Silkroad a lot later.

A company is supposed to make a good game to attract customers.

If they make a good game and keep up with good services the money will flow in automaticly.

Just look at WoW.

Needless to say more?

You cant just make a great game and then dont give a shit about its customers and still expect people to pay for it.

"Korea, home land of the Joymax company. The family of Sung Be Nerd is suited the creators of Silkroad for breaking the terms of service, tax evation and being anal with sox drops"... that could happend and little team of joymax owners and employed would end up doing hard labor some where in North Korea. Thats one reason i imagine they keep koreans players happy.

Oh really? You mean to tell me you get to eat food at a grocery store before you buy it? You can go to McDonald's and eat the food before you pay? What about food stands at an amusement park, do you get to eat there first and pay later?

The only situation I can think of where you eat first and pay later is sit-down resaurants. You order your food, eat, and get the bill later. Then again, some restaurants (all-you-can-eat ones come to mind) make you pay first then you go get your food and eat it.

Not really i spent most of my time after i hit level 85 slayer PKing with ahrims and whips, money became easy and game became boring IMO.
So i quit..
Played for like 3 years. but never complained about the service there.
I just wish Jagex own SRO.. it would be awsome..

Well I like your ideas but still, for a 'free'-game (it's not free, going to 70 without buying silk is too Farking boring) it's pretty advanced. Sure they don't do enough but maybe it's because we (those who live outside of ASIA) ccf & bot too-much that they don't care. But I've heard they are recruiting new gms and opening up an office in l.a, so they're definetly trying to improve.

Btw, welcome to the forums :)

I started quitting soon after slayer came out. I never really got into it. I had 85 mining, 85 fishing, 80 ranged, 80 fletching...I think there's a couple more high stats other than combat stats, but I forgot.

Yes, if Jagex owned SRO this game would kick ass.
