Playing SRO on a WideScreen flat lcd monitor.

Post by CodeOfSilence »

Just installed my new 19inch widescreen lcd monitor, tryed to played SRO on it and i tell you, its a totally different experience. But.. i still havent set it up properly. it seems like the colors are all messed up and it seems that im getting a little ghosting on sro. but why? this lcd suppose to have a 4ms response time so ghosting shouldnt be an issue.

So, just want to askof others who are using lcd screens to play SRO. what are your birghtness and contrast settings, in game and on the destop. need some help cuz this one is killing my eyes, either i have wrong settings or im not used to its colors yet. btw im running it on 1440X900 in game and desktop same resolution.

drivers for the monitor will make absolutely no difference, color settings... most likely will not make a difference either, and video drivers... same thing. sorry to say...

what is the brand of your monitor?

are you using DVI or VGA connectivity? maybe that has something to do with it? i have no clue when it comes to monitors

the specifications of it make it seem like a very ghost free monitor, i don't know why you would se ghosting on your screen.

using a DVI connector over your VGA one makes a HUGE difference when it comes to widescreen LCD screens.
I use a 32 inch RCA widescreen and when I played SRO ( I no longer play) using a VGA connection it was horrid, after running out and buying a DVI cable instead it raised the quality greatly.

i think its the in game settings that make my game look like that. im getting a lot of shadows in the game and when i chooce "bright" it makes it just brighter with out adjusting the color. im using the DVI connection maybe i will try the analog just to see how it looks like.

im used to using digital vibrance in the games but on this one, the correct diggital vibrance and contrast and brightness are tough to adjust to a look that looks natural. Right now im getting either a lot of shadows or a lot of brightness and no color adjustment. i think its the game settings and not my monitor.

i will install one of my other games and try to adjust my colors there cuz here everything is so small and you when you adjust something you destry something else.
