Are you sure about it not doing anything?
We were doing Union trade runs one weekend and i was one of the ones doing 5*'s. When i lvled up from Trader 1 to Trader 2, i noticed that a full camel which was a 5* previously, was only a 4* after the trader lvl increased. Note that it did not change the amount i could carry at a 1* level but it might make a difference if you carry multi stars.
Also, on the SRO site, it says that when you level up your thief job, you get a damage increase against hunters and merchants. I dunno if its true cause i dont thieve, but i remeber reading it.
It dosnt say that the same damage increase applys to hunter levels which seems kinda stupid.

I found a difference. When i was a lvl 1 trader noob, after completing a trade run @ lvl 1 trader, I got around ~56k PROFIT. Then, in lvl 2, i received ~65k PROFIT. The funny thing is, after i reached lvl 30, and i did trade runs, I get ~85 profit and im still only lvl 2. Also, I only do trade runs with camels (I dont think that 1 star horse trade runs are worth my time- no challenge, at least with camel u can get popped(I know how ot avoid them...this makes 1 stars much more fun.

NOOOOOO
listen up..
The higher PLAYER lvl the more loot you can handle..
The job levels is for one of the big updates.
And this is what they are
GOING(NOT IMPLEMENTED YET) to do
Silkroad Team:
The Job oriented Triangular Conflict System that is contained within the trade caravan activity is used to advance your job levels. If the player raises their job level, unique items with special abilities will be able to be equipped. Not only with the items garnered through this make a player more effective in the Triangular Conflict System, it will also give the player certain advantages in normal PvP as well.
Trader
* be able to transport more special items
* be able to equip a special trader item that grants the trader greater defense to assist them in their job
* be able to get a faster caravan transport.
Hunter
* be able to get a faster transport
* be able to wear an exclusive hunter item which will give advantages in PVP combat with thieves.
Thief
* be able to equip an exclusive item that will enable thieves greater ability to utilize their skills to hide and ambush
K-JEY has put this interview in the update thread.....

O yeah....
read this to:
Q. What is the difference between lower and higher grade job suits?
A. There are two differences between the lower and higher grade job suits, which are price and appearance. There are absolutely no other differences, such as becoming undetected on radar.
