IS phy attack on weapon for pure str? Or just for bots?

Cause If u goin 2 use any force on the weapon it count as mag att.
The only thing i think the phy att is good for is for bot that dont use mag on the att.

no no no you got it all wrong

If you are pure STR, it doesnt count your entire attack as 100% mag just because you use imbue, it adds the extra mag attack of the imbue.

For example:

Attack without imbue = 500 dmg (phys)

Attack with imbue = 500 dmg (phys) + 200 dmg (mag)


If you crit, only the phys damage doubles, so you will do:

500x2 + 200 dmg (1200) instead of 1400.

nope my friend try it out with a glavie and a spear hes pure str with just att the glavie is more powerfull but with fire on it. the spear is more powerfull. both same lvl. Than is funny who dont use those force on the att? beside the bot i know alots of bot wont use any force on the att.

well that's not how it works :s

however, spears do have a higher magical attack (all weapons have more mag attack, altho spears have even more ;o), which could be the reason.

EDIT: did he try by simply hitting a mob with and without imbue?

or did he try with Heuksal skills ?

if it was'nt the later, his results are'nt too surprising

And did he do atleast 10 hits and calculated the avarage attack?
If not, it was just bad calculations (seeing as the damage can be pretty random).

Did you check the difference on crits?

If all damage was pure mag dmg when you use an imbue, the crits wouldnt do any extra damage at all, which is proof of that this is how not it works so you may disregard from my previous questions and tell your friend that he is wrong

Why?

Because imbue increases damage by adding magical attacks (and ofc cus without imbues/skills youre weapons durability would drop to 0 in 5 minutes +_+). I seriously doubt that a spear would offer better damage if you used the Heuksal skills, which adds phys dmg to your attack, but lets say it did, with a spear, your crits would hardly do any good


Go with Glaive.

each imbued attack is made up of a physical component and a magical component. your magical damage gets added to your physical dmg, both of which are modified by a multitide of factors including balances, mastery levels, skill levels, etc. i'm a bit too tipsy to enumerate my theories on damage calculation atm, so i will leave it at that. bombay sapphire ftw.

I did more damage with my 56 +3 Glaive than my 56 +3 Spear back in the day. 'Nuff said. And yes, I used imbue. The only reason I didn't sell that spear was for the badass factor of 7d spears.

If u use any imbue on the att it will count as mag att on weapon. Havent try out crit but i think crit count the same. if u use imbue on the att and get 500 dam on the att with crit u get 1k. phy att on weapon is useless since everyone used imbue on weapon. with imbue on mag att on weapon count.

Its counted as both Physical and Magical. If it was only magical, it would be literally unable to crit like nukes.

i c maybe i should try out more and ask my try 2 try it out. u sure the glave mag att aint higher than the spear? Sometime the glavie can have higher mag att than th spear. If mag att on glavie +80% thant he spear had+0%

No this is not correct, on my bow with imbue and Anti-Devil i usually hit around 1.4k, with crit its around 2k.

Why? cus Crit only doubles phys dmg, so the imbue still only is around +300-400

5354, you want the max stats for everything on your weapons

A high phys% attack on a spear makes it almost as good as a glaive! I've actually used all spears 3x because I've gotten ones with high crit (11+) and high phys% attack. Beats wasting more time and money trying to get a decent glaive for a little more dmg.

Oh and Tallrik, it's about a good +hour before you can come close to running out of weapon durability with a 50 dura weapon.

If I can kill a mob in 4-5 non imbue hits, I'll do it. Saves a lot of money on mp pots. I just did old 2x quests yesterday that I had skipped, didn't use imbue once. MP = money.

Magic doesn't crit either. This is easily provable when you have lit and and manage to crit on the transfer. The splash dmg isn't doubled. (And yes, I haev critted on a lit transfer before). If you do 500 dmg with imbue and phys and you are not a str based char, then your crit will be a lot less than 1k, depending on your build, prob around 675ish

Spear had 42%, Glaive can't remember. Its been a while since I had those weaps. I know the spear had way flarking higher magic though.

Really? What weapon was it and durability.

I know because I just did the 100 eye and 600 chajki yesterday, and started the ghost egg bugs (still got a lot left at least drop rate isn't that bad) in less than a few hours before ticket started to bump up my exp some. I know I was out there at least an hour, I had people to talk to, so it wasn't so bad. I was using a 5th Degree Spear and Durability was above 40% when I was done (ticket was soon so had to leave).

Even when I farmed for the little time that I did, on avg my ~60 dura bow lasted a little over 1.5hrs while on ticket before getting down to 0.

No, you are right. 99% of them are I'd be less suscipious of the ones with Item Mall stuff though and the ones that don't use self heal

At lower levels it really doesn't matter wether you use speer or glavie. It's the same about imbues.
The differences come out at higher levels.
