PK System

They should change th PK system to something similar to Lineage II.

In L2, a user can hit another player and as a result the offender changes 'purple'. There are 2 ways this fight can take direction:

1. The victim can retaliate by hitting back, and changing into purple status also. If either party kills the other, there are no penalties except some EXP loss for the dead player and the 'purple' mode expires shortly after the battle.

2. The victim may choose to ignore the offender and if he/she dies, the offender then becomes 'red'. The victim loses minor exp.

My personal opinion is that you shouldn't lose any xp if you're murdered. Why punishment players for another being an asswipe?

Nah, XP loss is not so bad but SP loss is bullshit.

If people didn't lose sp and items, everyone would be murdering everyone. Just as it should be. :D

My friend told me about a game where if you kill another player they get exp loss but you get nothing. no purple name. no nothing.

That game sounds like total chaos to me haha.

I love how the system is in the game now, the only thing I hate is that it takes 3 freakin days to go down 1 murder lvl, -.-..

PVP in WoW can get honour up, when player get honour up enough, they can get better special equipment. no purple no lose. only some guy be killed, another got honour up. that's a safe PVP.

I like purple name in L2, it looks cool but dangerous :P

In runescape they had a system where if you attacked someone who hadn't attacked you, you'd get a skull over your head. If you attack someone who attacks you, and you hadn't had a skull previously, you would not gain a skull. The skull would dissapear after 20 or 30 mins. It was a very nice system IMO.

Oh ya and if you were skulled and died, you lost EVERYTHING in your inventory. But there was a prayer that allowed to protect one item based on highest NPC value. Still, nice system, succesful pkers were some of the richest mo fuckers in the game.

If you died while not skulled, you would lose all but the best 3 items in your inventory.

Best of all: No exp loss. Ever. Sweetness.

EDIT: Off topic - I've got a friend in RL who plays L2. He's lvl 76. IGN K1netic. He's got the sword of somethin somethin. A ONE OF A KIND sword. I repeat, a sword that only one person has at a time in the game. I was watching him kill people the other day, all upper 60s and 70s. Most ran on sight of the sword going 'omg nooo'. Others died within 4 hits. It's fucken tight man.

i would rather loose a whole lvl than loose my items
maybe to those who bought npc items all default +0% maybe they dont mind but sure as hell that system would suck for sro

If SRO became anything like RS, I'd pack and leave so fast.

Oh yeah, and the L2 weapon that your friend has is an monthly event item, awarded to the current best player for one month.

I loved L2. I wish I kept on playing it. Its way better now than 2 years ago when I started.

The Purple status should be like L2's. When the purple name is about to dissappar, it flashes to let people know to **** off.

There you'd have to go into the Wilderness before you could attack anyone or could get attacked by anyone. You can't compare this to Silkroad. When you go in to the Wilderness you know what the risks are, most people go in there for PKing after all.

In Silkroad, when you reach lvl 20, you can attack others and others can attack you, everywhere and always. It's more realistic. In real life you could kill someone too; the one would lose his life (exp in SRO since you can't actually DIE and start over the game... that would suck xD) but you would get wanted and get a penalty.

I like the way it is in Silkroad.
The exp loss sucks but c'est la vie.
Being a murderer sucks way harder and you know the one that killed you will get his punishment :)
In RuneScape the one who killed you could just get away with it...

if murdered, i see no reason why i should lose exp, if a murderer/offender is killed, they should... or else there would be no reason in me making bots turn offender on my ass :D

Let's fantasize a little bit.

1. Offender turtns purple, begins to blink x seconds before returning to normal.
2. Player who gets attacked/murdered loses no points, however murdered loses 2% upon becoming a murderer. 2% is then applied to murdered player.
3. Murderer turns red, shows up as a blip on radar as something to draw notice.
4. Murderer is fair game with points awarded to whoever kills them as well as an item.
5. Once user gets murder status, their assets are frozen: can't remove equipment, can't return to town.
6. Murder status can not be grinded (ground?) off - x minutes/hours.
7. Those with murder status can not use scrolls or horses.

Exception...

1. Player attempts to contact another player whom they believe to be a bot.
2. Suspected bot does not reply or respond to any attemps to disprove they are botting. (I don't know, maybe an anti-botting control panel with x number of 'bot check' actions - remember, this is fantasy).
3. Presumed bot fails all game checks. Presumed bot turns, oh, I don't know, red and blinks (just as a murdered would).
4. Legal ass-beating commences on the bot. Victor is awarded 2%, bot loses 2% and information is sent to a bot list for the GMs (6 GMs per server - 2 for each territory) to investigate. Killed bot is logged off from game upon death.

That's what I'd like to see along with the winning lotto numbers on my ticket.

The only thing that will never happen is 1 gm/server. And you can quote me on that.

A nice pk system is the one in ULTIMA ONLINE. You become red only after X kills :B

And you stayed red for X * Y hours, where y would be a set amount of hours in which each kill decayed.

THAT was cool.

But in UO, everytime u died, u had to become a ghost and run back to the closest healer, then go back to your corpse praying nobody looted it yet

why take away all penaltie to the person being murdered? the way this is going it seems yuo just want it removed. in my opionion the person being murdered should lose 1%, at least, so that w=there is a point.

ex: some1 is being an ass about KSing you and 1 KS you accidently did to them. they won't piss off so yuo murderthem. they get 1-2% exp loss. yuo get the regular murder status now (or maybe like 5% total exp and like 50 total Sp).

the muderer still gets a larger penalty, so that yuo don't go around murdering every1, then the one murdered. but at least they get something out of it.

if yuo ask me that would be best. none of this "OMG THE POEPLE GETTING MURDERED ARE SO INNOCENT!!! KEEEP MUDERING BUT MAKE IT SO THAT THEY LOSE NO EXP AND THE ONLY REASON TO MURDER IS IF YUO WANT TO LOSE EXP!!! YAY LETS MAKE THE GAME A LIL' MORE POINTLESS!!!!"

yes thats how stupid i think people who want no penalty to a mudered person are.
