From a tech thread:

MapleShilc wrote:do wut the error says

660 should be gameguard running error due to violation in memory fraud, dunno how to explain that just is game guard used a part of memory thats not allow to be used, go find where u installed ur silkroad, and find the gameguard folder, and find everyfile with .erl, and send it to the e-mail address, they will help u fix it

or u can try is go in to a safe mod, or install another os and try the game see if there is any program blocking gameguard

Erm.. you have a problem which not everybody has, meaning that you can fix it. Ofcourse you can just take the easy way and stop playing, which means you aren't willing to put a little effort in playing again and you should quit anyways -,-"

From what I read it said it was a mem error. Try turning off your comp then taking out your memory and putting it back in.

Well, if it didn't work w/either then it's not a phy memory problem. Have you tried installing w/a diff installer incase yours is corrupt or installing in a diff folder?

by DJCheezy
Yea ive tried with all different installers.
*sigh* I wish there was another free mmorpg game like silkroad just as better

Hit F8 while your comp is booting up, hit it multiple times to make sure it recognizes your cmd.

so basically it goes like this:
you launch SRO and get the screen with update info
then you click on Start
then the gameguard comes up and it says something bout altered?
then you get the SRO login screen
you log in
you get on the server
then you dc

?

Explanation to GameGuard Error 230 / 660

Mostly occurs when you (re)start your computer and then try run the SRO gameclient for the first time. How and why i do not know, dont ask me for technical details.

Solution to GameGuard Error 230 / 660

Run your SRO gameclient
Press Start

Then do NOT press any confirmation button that pops up saying that there's an initialization erro with gameguard. After a few seconds the gameclient crashes back to your desktop

Run SRO gameclient
Press Start
And viola, you get the login window!
Now you can get pissed off for getting the "Disconnected to server" popup window because of the "Can not connect due to server traffic"

Hope it helps for those that get this error every single time they want to run the client.

Try MemTest86+.
Download it, burn it on cd (iso cd image) and restart.
It will boot from cd and test your main memory.

Edit:
Oh, didn't see that reply, was kind of busy while posting.
