I gave up on my hybrid archer character, and currently building a Pure Str Fire Glavie character. I am strictly following the guide on this forum and the advices of my guild members. I have an SOS glavie, and wear armour.

I had something unpleasant happen to me over the past few days. When I was doing my Ghost soldier quest, a relatively high level character (I think his nick was something like XSpreadLoveX) started attacking me. He took off his weapon and started attacking me with his fists (I didn't know you can do that). At first I ran away from him, but he caught up and continued. So I started fighting back with hopes of killing him while he is purple. Stupid me. After a few hopeless blows I stopped and asked WTF was his problem.

He also stopped, apologized, and claimed that he was "trying something".

A couple of days after that, I was doing my quest with the Demon Horses. Another player, probably close to my level, started attacking me. This time I stopped right away and asked her what the hell was her problem.

She gave me a shocking reply. She claimed that she mistook me for a bot. I asked her why, and she explained that I matched the profile of a bot on all parameters. Even the way I moved around.

Grinding in that area, apparent pure str build, wearing armour, SOS glavie... and so on.

She said that she was going to report me when she would get the chance, but after I replied she claimed it was obivous that I am not a bot.

Nevertheless... WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? A whole new type of discrimination?!?!? Profiling?!?! This is insane! Did any one else have an experience like that?

Well lots of people accuse others of botting. Dont worry about it they are just jealous idiots. Even if she does report u i dont think they would care much because JM doesnt really ban bots and since u already proved that u arent a bot there is nothing to worry about.

No no.. I been called a bot too.. I grind hard and hit targets fast. I just stop and say WTF and I get the "im sorry". It depends on your play style me im very hard core and have my next mob on target before the one im on dies. So I can understand if it looks strange to someone else that im moving so fast.

Just stop and say something. Belive me we all hate bots and if we can trick one into murder.. We will.

I don't think anyone one here has at one point been called a bot no matter what class. You just picked the class that botters use the most.

As I said, it was given to me in crystal clear words; it was assumed that I was a bot because my build made it likely.

This worries me. What if the GMs won't give a rats ass and just ban me. What if some people on that recent ban list are actually innocent? And what if I end up on that list the next time.

Let me make this clear to you. It NEVER happened to me while I was playing with my hybrid archer... NEVER.

I appreciate your sense of humour (no seriously that's so funny), but... err... seriously (used again), I am worried a little, feel like going back to my hybrid archer.

Your post is exactly what I've been going though on Rome. I'm not a Str-Glaiver though, Ice-Bow for farming. Since I have a high crit sos bow and can take down mobs in less than 4 hits usually, I don't bother to use skills or imbue, arrows cost a lot less than mp potions do. I still use skills though for giants, champs, zerk so I maximize exp/sp. I've already have had 2 people cast protectors on me, to which I just laughed.

Then there's the "well you bot because yu moved to that enemy and didn't attack it when someone else did" and the "omg that was my mob, you ksing botter". Or, when my monkeys inv is full and I want to reach a certain % of level before town, I make it only pick up gold and get "oh monkeys not getting items, botter".

Then my favorite is giants because I pull off 500 anti-devil imbued crits and 1k when zerked so I can pretty much get any kill - me vs anyone zerked w/o sos weapons near my level, I win. usually get the F-off botter response to that one. Then I get spammed and close my chat window, just to miss another "if your not a bot respond pm"

Oh well! What's that saying go about if it looks like a duck, sounds like a suck, and feels like a duck? I swear I'm not emo Just ranting

Profiling, maybe. I dun really fight like a bot, btw if you're a str glaiver a good one trains very differently from a bot.

Means the guy who hit yous a real douche bag who knows nothing or you need to play around and find a faster way of training.

hehe im a social bee too . But i always talk in guild chat. Also they might think youre a gold farmer if ur not using imbue

its obvious why they think your a botter. your pure STR using a glaive and ARMOR. Many GOLD botters are near Demon horses. The most comon bot builds are STR Glaive, Armor. Why? Kills the fastest, and tanks the most hits from demon horses. A lot of botters equip and buy SOS glaives because they kill faster. If i saw your running around near demon horses, I'd label you a "bot" as well, although I wouldn't start attacking you. Many bots are starting to use capes so they dont die, and can "res" themself and not have to run back X_X

I can 2 hit robbers, 1 nuke + lion shout. I constantly do that.. and I get called a bot.

I can 3 hit small bunwangs, 1 nuke lion shout ghost spear. I constantly do that AND get called a bot... it's life =.=

If you're concerned about being on the block list then get this: half the people on the "block" list arent even "blocked"

I can feel your pain. Wait until you suit up for a job and kill a thief, or being a thief and kill a hunter, you will also get called a bot. Why? well they know it will probably piss you off. Heck i have been call a bot for buying an item in a stall before the guy next to me got it.

I believe this is one of the reasons joymax has to see a bot with their own eyes to ban them. If they didn't the server population would be about 60.

Not only that here is where the truth hurts. Alot of people will bot to 70 then go bot hunting themselfs. Turning them in and calling them out on forums and globals. Why? well less competition in the caves and jobs in their eyes.

I have finally broke 60 i started in april ( i believe ) and have used a gold ticket since 16, monkey for my items/gold and play at home and work. I find it strange that all of these people have passed me, not that it can't happen, but in all reality botting is an extreme problem. There are probably 80 times the level 70s then when i first started. That is the logical explanation.

I still find botting so freaking funny. Why even play a game. If your not going to play it? The world has gotten so lazy that a person can't even enjoy the game? I have played every level so far and im up to 42. I find great self pride that im doing this on my own.

What pride does a person have in botting a toon to max level?

Hay just ask yourself this. Why am I playing? To prove im a bad ass? Really its just a game, its not real and your not going to be in the SRO hall of fame. Enjoy the game and if you hit max level at one point. Gratz to you.

At this point SRO knows about the botting problem.. Belive me they do. They don't care or don't want to invest time into stopping it. So my best advice to you is. Enjoy the game the best you can, or find a game that you will enjoy with out bots.

and thats cuz the demon horses wear capes??

I think thekwong, or pinky as i like to call him, is trying to say that if someone tried attacking a botter in a cape then they could "Ressurect at this point" like in a cape fight. if you die. you get right back up.

what he doesnt realize is that getting killed by someone not in a cape counts as dying like normal. Meaning that pinky here has no idea what he's talking about, and probably thought some guy who sucks at grinding and happened to be wearing a cape was a botter.

i only seen one botter ever grinding with a cape on , I guess they forget to remove it or just wanted to get ..... with. Needless to say 12+ deaths to mobs within an hour kinda sux for anyone..yah i was bored

yup, str glaive, armor or prot gear, go to the demon horse area and check out the people there, watch how the run about and stuff, notice they all have similar names, all stop attacking something you fight.

gold farmers.

the way pople hit you to find out is a sure bet to figure out if one is a bot, godl farming bots wont attack back, ever.

but if you turn around and start hitting them, or say "wtf" then they realise you're human.

just reply with "hey baby, save the tough love for later ya? "

they'll soon run away xP
