<< newb needs help xD
Hi Silkroad people.
I just downloaded this game yesturday, and so far it is quite good.
I have decided to give Rising force online a bit of a break, cause i am lvl 47, and the cap is 50, and tbh the exp isnt great now.
So here i am ^_^
First of, where do i buy new clothes/weapons for my lvl, i am lvl 5 and cant find a normal NPC, they all seem to be people selling random things.
When can i become a spiritualist, and use spells, also where do i buy the spells from ?
Hmm what is silk ? i go to a mall thing, and it asks for silk, i dont think i have any. ( Unless silk is gold)
Please any help is very much appreciated.

the random "npc"'s you're seeing are actually other players selling good that they have picked up. the true NPC's will have names like "Defence trader xxx" and "Blacksmith XXX" they are located near the buildings in each town. the tooltip icon will change when you mouse over these characters. if you press "m" you can bring up a map that will show you locations of the major vendors in your area.
you don't buy spells, you level up to earn them.
silk is the currency used in the Item Mall section of the game. you must play real money for it. it is used to buy premium items. the current rate is $10 USD = 100 silk.

Press "s" ingame and it'll show you skills you can purchase. And the magical class in this game is called nuker, and you get them at lvl30.
Various guides can be found in the different sections of this forum which you can access at the left of every page.
Press F10, silk is bought w/real money, not ingame money.

Not to much? Do you live in englnad? If so, currency is about $10 = 5.70 for 100 silk 50 silk is about £2.80 or so, if you have a paypal account, just log it in before you do the transaction, it will tell you how much it costs in your currency anyway. Or you can go to http://www.xe.com to exchange dollars for what ever currency your using.

There are a lot of good Newbie guides in the guides tutorial section.
First off, as stated above, Press "M" and click the name of the city to zoom in on the city. Then you will where each shop is located.
No you dont have to buy Potions with real money. Go to the Herbalist to buy potions. At your level, Herbs will suffice.
IMO, the only good Item mall Items are
-Monkey or Squirrel, they pick up your items so you dont have to waste time picking stuff up. Which means you can move from monster to monster faster.
-I wouldn't recommend buying Experience tickets until you know more about the game because they will be wasteful. Try using the ones they give you.
-You could also buy a wolf from Item Mall, but they are rather expensive and Suck at low lvls. I would wait until you know more about the game to buy them because if they die, you gotta pay 50,000 gold to ressurect them.
Oh yeah you cant get on because you are probably trying to log on during peak times. Peak times range from 8AM - 4PM Eastern US time. Yeah its long and sux because of all the bots -.-

I hadnt thought of joining a guild yet hehe.
Ok the herbalist. i shall seek him out ^_^
I saw the monkey and squirrel, i did like the look of the wolf, But i will go by what you said, i think i might go for a squirrel 0_o ( that just sounds funny)
I am guessing the experience tickets, give you experience or something, i had one that i could use at lvl 5, and i clicked on it, nothing happend. >.<
Bleh, to the bots.
i dont know who owns this game, but we have problems with the bots on RFO >.< Codemasters dont do anything to sort them, its infuriating.
@ Deutr0.
That isnt the reason for moving to RSO, i just wanted a break from RFO, it has way to many bugs, the accretian race is so overpwoerd, and the Mobs keep de spanwing, making it hard to lvl up at all, lol
And this game looks fun ^_^

What these scrools do is they give you an extra 60% or 100% experience for each monster you kill while they are running.
And to get this out of the way, go into your profile and type you server name in location to get the cool flag.

Yes, in fact it is very easy to gimp your character in this game. You might want to take a look over here to decide how you want to make your character.

first of: get in the game and just mess arround till you have a basic knowledge (btw getting in is sometimes hard, just keep retrying)
if you want, create a second character just to test out and see what you can do. level them both to 5 so you can ride a horse and so on...
in my opinion if you first test the game with some characters then you will understand the guides better and what people will give you for advice
After you have a grip of the game, start reading guides on builds/characters and other stuff, if you have any questions, just ask, all will help you here.
And most important: have fun

Hehe yup it is definatly a battle to log in.
As soon as i do, i will try and buy a horse, ( i didnt know i could use one at lvl 5...thankyou xD)
I was just reading somene's guide on how to create a Nuker.
I think someone said a nuker is this game's version of a spiritualist/mage type.
I have 1 spell thing, i click on it, and my hand glows for like 10 secs or so.
i dont know what it does though, i thought i would shoot a ice ball or something.
But thankyou for the advice, it very much helps.
^_^

That glow is called an Imbue. it puts a elemental force on your weapon causing you to deal more damage.
You dont really get any damage spells until you are lvl 15-19? cant remember when you get Shout Lion. but thats a lightning move. It will be your first distance magic spell if you go lightning. Other than that, Ice has some freezing spells that do 1 or no damage.
The main magic spells come when you are lvl 30

This is what is commonly reffered to as a magic imbue. There are 3 types. Fire, ice, and lightning. It imbues your weapon with the power of that element and increases your damage dealt. Fire burns, ice freezes (slows), lightning stuns.
edit: bah someone beat me to it.

Make sure you put all your points into int if you are going to be a nuker, you can always go hybrid later when you understand the game a little better if you want, but if you decide you want to be a pure there is no going back after becoming hybrid.

first of all, major props to how helpful everyone has been in this thread! good to see us taking a new player under our wing.
not sure if it had been answered yet, but you don't have to spend real money on pots and such. you buy them at the herbalist, general store, etc. in each town. the only things you buy with silk are premium items, such as scrolls that give experience bonuses, certain pets, and some alchemy items. it's entirely possible to play the game w/o ever buying silk, but it's pretty universally agreed that in order to max out your potential in less time, gold tickets for double exp and monkeys to pick up your drops are almost essential.
