I picked this up for 20m from a stall earlier today:


I can't seem to +5 the damn thing. I got it to +4 once and realize I should have ponied up the cash for an astral or two because I can barely +3 it now.

And yet, this happened when I was TRYING TO ASSIMILATE!!!



120% durability is freaking max!

I'll trade all those 120% for one assimilation of decent str or stamina instead.

Really nice item tho dude - but yah I agree with Ryoko that some items are just not meant to be aged... I had a bow like that once bleh.

You probabaly don't want to hear this cuch, but when adding str to a necklace yesterday I got a bonus. The necklace was 2 int, 5% frost. I used a str tab, fail, used another, got str 5 and int assimilated to 5. Level 58 (i think) necklace. Goes well with my 52 rings which are 4/5 and 5/4.

I still haven't tried to +3 anything on this char, but I don't seem to have any trouble getting gear to +2. Whereas on r0x0rz I ALWAYS failed from +1 to +2 at least 1-2 times.

I totally believe that luck is character based now.

Wow. I really would not recommend trying to get lucky with assimilation on an item with such all-around good defense/reinforce values. You're much more likely to hurt yourself than help yourself.

opposite story:

bought SoS 69 chest, spent nearly what i paid for it alchemying it. lost most of that alchemy in rollback. re-alchemied it, got 400HP on it. added str, got 4 str, HP reduced to 250. gfg.

Still on Tibet mainly. I get on troy to shop for deals, make some lucky stones and stall a bit.

I used 20 wep elixirs and couldnt even get a +3 on a 60 bow.

I love how SRO sucks you in like a gambling state of mind

seems like theres a pattern for wep elixer usage for me...takes about 9 elixers to get to +3 then 12 to get to +4 and 3 more to get to +5 (with astral) so on the 3rd try i get the next + ...which is kinda good if ur rich but im not

i noticed i had more luck +3-ing seal items than non-seal items ever since

if i were u, just use it as +2 and +3 it later on, at least those +2 will be put to good use in case +3 fails...

As Teh Captain once noticed, most probably every individual item has it's own luck rate. So i don't think making sos/som/sosun + is any harder/easier than simple items.
