How Was Gold Duping Done -- Read First

How the hell did "chaud" do it? I mean, it's just pure curiosity and since they're fixing it doesn't matter. But I'd love to know how they did it and how they figured out how to do it in the first place.

I see it as, like 20 hrs of downtime.
They don't know how to fix it.
If they bring it back up...Compensation event.

Hints: Done 100% in game, no 3rd party programs to do anything.

I understand that.......but how did you do it in-game? Like what did you do to actually create this gold? And why did your account have so many astrals on it?

P.S. does it have to do with CCFing?

Not going to tell the method, just watch for wrong guesses.

I had 0 astral on my accnt...

And the astrals, or so I thought, were 8th deg STR stones, didn't look close enough. ^^

I don't see it being fixed. And even then, it is up to the person that came up with it.

From what i heard it was something about warring your own guild, pumping money into your own guild storage.

IE glitch: put money in monkey then took it out, had money in inv and in monk...

IE trick: bought an item from a shop, sold it to the same shop for profit...

Maybe if you told us, suta could report it so the servers could get back up?

I admit what you guys did was funny as hell, and it certainly gave me a new perspective on how much joymax can do, and just doesnt want to do, for us.

But i think people are getting pretty cranky from waiting, because of what you guys did

Chaud. I dono how you did it. Nor do i want to know. However although you describe your actions as a "wakeup call" to the GMs because of their neglect of BOTS and CCFers. Do you not think that inserting a malicious code into SRO is overdoing it? I mean yes we have all been angered and fustrated with the hundreds of bots we see roaming free. N im sure people like Huy who spends HIS real money, time and effort into his amazing alchemy also is fustrated with all the CCFers.

Yes it is true that the BOTS and CCFers must be dealt with but Taking maters into your own hands just to alert the GM's. Especially in the manner which you conducted your awakening is just selfish. Because of your little stunt the entire SRO was down for almost 12hrz. Which means that litterally hundred of thousands of people were left without SRO. If you really wanted to alert the GMs do you think it was right that the rest of SRO had to suffer too?

N also the GMs. What a suprise they awake to. A server gone wild. Hundreds of millions of gold everywhere. Economic aspect of the game collapsing right in front of their very eyes, Their only choice. To completely shut down SRO untill they can fix the problem. This must have implemented HUGE ammounts of stress on the GMs and JoyMax. Remember Silkroad is a buisness for JoyMax and the longer it is down the more money they loose.

Also we all know that the GMs have been slipping in the eyes of the SRO players. The last thing they wanted and needed was to shut down the servers and create a HUGE angry MOB of SRO players who wont think twice before blaming it on the GMs and flaming them like there is no tomorow. Yes its true you might try to reason with them and explain to them that the GMs shut down the server for the GOOD of SRO. However no matter what you say they wont listen.

So although yes your actions were indeed a huge shock to all of SRO. N it defenitly got the attention of the GMs i think you should have thought your actions throught. Or at least not have exploited it in such a way thay caused such severe reprocussions..

Lol oh well. Legend no less, just shows that JM have you playing SRO on a certain system and they make everyone follow that same system of doing things. Sometimes people are doing what JM want them to do without realising it O.o but anyway just a well dont for thinking outisde of the box.

that may be...does it have a cap of 500m? i don't know of anything else that has a cap of 500m let alone anyone with 500m to test lol. the 1 minute might be from warring and forfeiting? i'm quite certain that there's a 30s withdrawing .... hm...

keyj, there was no "malicious code" inserted into anything. its an exploit. pretty much like making a stall on a camel. anyone can do it. theyre just the ones that figured out how.

Doesnt really matter to me. I was just so lmfao when the servers got back up. Hotan was madness for 30 minutes until they closed down all the servers.

Now im just exited to see if they rollback or start banning people.

I don't see it being fixed. And even then, it is up to the person that came up with it.

I came up with the method, and the list of people that know this method is as follows:
Kaela (myself, banned)
Hyori (banned)
SpearKill (banned)
PuRe (banned)
CHAUD (banned)

and one remaining person on babel, who has yet to be banned, and will remain unnamed

we have the resources to duplicate this method on the server of our choosing easily, which is why all servers receive inspections.

Giving out the secret will ensure two things...
1) We help Joymax patch the issue
2) We help more people get themselves banned

Since we dont benefit from either one, chances of anyone talking seem small.

One thing i can assure you, had we ninja'ed this gold duping method instead of making billions instantly, we could have gotten away with it, and done so very easily. Everyone else is convinced of that as well, without even knowing the method, and no doubt want to try their hand at it before its too late.

The funny part is that after being banned 2 times now for contributing to the downfall of this game, I still have people supporting my actions... and what is more sad, it took me 2 uber accounts being banned to realize the hassle and frustrations caused by isro mismanagement far outweighs the few moments of fun this game produces (that is... unless you have unlimited gold ;-)

).

How did i think of it? A real ingame experience which i realized could be exploited. most people will never experience the situation, and those that do will likely not notice it as a possible exploit. The same things are needed to find any exploit like this... 1) a solid understanding of game mechanics, and 2) a scammers mentality. Fable excells (excelled lol) at both FTFW.

My prediction on the outcome of this: same shit, nother day. and remember...

We are continuously doing our best to ensure a smooth gaming experience...
