Recently I got a MSN message from someone claiming to be GM Crayon in SilkRoad. The MSN id is REMOVED but its strange because the screename shows that the email address is unverified. I think more than likely this guy is a fake but I can't seem to crack his act. Anyone have any ideas?
I removed the MSN ID. Thanks for the quick response guys!

The email address does not appear like the other GM email addresses from joymax appear. They do not use a - in their email name. My guess would be that someone is just messing around - worst case scenario is that this is someone who has found one of the fabulous scripts from msn and is trying to cause you harm. Do not post this on sro.net forums. If you are really curious submit a bug report to SRO - they will not answer you, but if it is really Crayon that wants to contact you he is smart enough to let you know in a valid and trustworthy manner.

Supposedly someone got hacked on our server yesterday b/c of this. She globaled something about "Someone is impersonating crayon, don't believe him he hacked me." And then "Don't ask how."
I spammed lol for minutes to her. How can you be so stupid?

cyrax more than likely this person was scammed with the trade hack. This hack, while some would love to say it doesn't exist, does. It appeared after the guild renovation update.... that's all I'm going to say but if anyone thinks really hard they can envision how it works.
Unfortunately ppl like to speak with GM's. So when someone appears on the server having made a similar nickname, noobs to the game honestly have no way of knowing, particularly if they have never had contact with a GM before. When this happens on Babel we head to the town involved and start yelling to let everyone know.

Sutaseyu .... how does this "trade hack" work?
What should players look out for/avoid?

If you get random exchange/party offers don't accept them. It's that easy.
