what if there is a town thief/robber??

one day when i was playing sro, i suddenly came up with this idea.

so far, this game has been very good to keep it related to the history of china and the silkroad and all that. and they've done a great job of creating the towns and the shops and buildings. however, it is way too peaceful in towns. they make the towns to be safe zones, so you will not be attack by other player or monsters.

but there are something missing in the towns. they are thiefs and robbers !! :twisted: i mean, no matter is nowadays or thousand years ago, thiefs and robbers do exist in towns and they rob people for money.

what they should do is make a npc thief/robber to appear in the town every few hours or even every hours, and the robber will go around and steal money from the players, like if the robbers get hold of you for 2 seconds, and he will steal 2% of the Gold u have. if you don't run away or attack the npc robber, it will keep stealing 2% of the Gold you have. the robber will not attack you, but he wll just keep stealing Gold from other people. until he is killed.

the amount of HP are determind by the amount of players are in town. more players in town, and the robber will have more HP. may be 25% of population in town add their HP togather to be the robber's HP. makes the robber kinda like a super giant. takes long time to kill.

and the best part is, whoever kill the robber can get the money that the robber has stolen from other players. lol

lol the don and hotan robbers would have like 1mil-10mil HP really bad idea. maybe if they were like regualar mobs, and spwned a little more often but i still don't think it would work

That would suck if you were afk stalling lol.

"Allright, ima sell this sos 64 glaive for 250 mil, lets hope it sells. Goes afk, and the glaive sells and the robber comes. You comeback with the glaive sold but no money LOL"

Indeed. I do quite a lot of afk stalling (basicly almost every night, when I'm sleeping), so this would be a small disaster for me :cry:

I keep telling my guild/union about a similar concept:

When you equip a theif suit you will also have the option to mug persons doing a trade. The amount stolen would never go above 10% of what they currently have on them.
So if they have 1 gold in their inventory while trading you would get basically nothing if you successfully mugged them.
Mugging would be different from killing in that the trader's status would be similar to when you are defeated in a pvp battle, you just get up.
To avoid getting mugged you leave your money in the storage box before doing a trade.

Tied to this system we could have a bounty hunter page. All those that robbed/mugged more than 5 persons in a single day would be automatically added to this page, maybe on a similar tab to the current party matching system.
The bounty will be 2x the amount you stole in goods and keeps getting higher for additional thefts. Anyone killing a "wanted" would get that reward + exp/sp boost.
It would also be interesting if players could post the last coordinates they saw a wanted, so by clicking on that persons id in the system you see bounty amount/last seen where.

Just random thoughts.... :twisted:

why dont we have a GM spawn in hotan and ban the major ccfers/ frauded silk buyers so your gold stops decreasing in value by 2% every night anyways... gg gaymax
