Question about bot behavior

Can a bot be configured to log off when it gets attacked by a giant?
I've met someone today killing everything left and right at the scorpions near DW with ease, KSing and not responding to at least local chat.
The giant attacked and whoosh he was gone.
However i need further proof before i can even think about starting my new and prosperous bot hunting career, hence the question.
And a follow-up if it's in order...
Did i get these steps right for making a bot red:
- Send in Wolf to attack.
- Recall Wolf by setting up a stall OR watch him die.
- Attack the murderous botter.
