Well im lvl 21 and i thought about getting a wolf, now that i have the money. Should i buy a new one for 1m or a already near my lvl wolf? are they a pain to lvl with that big of a gap? need some answers

Honestly my advice to you is to not buy one until level 42 or so. That way you will have already bought your new 6th degree gear and have moneyt o res your wolf if it die (which happens a lot)
And no your gap from the wolf is not bad. A lot of ppl like me had a 60 level gap when he raised our wolf

if you are only 21, buy a knew one. It does not take that long for it to lvl anyways. Unless you find one for like 900k or something >.< .

Ahh... I love my wolf, even if i'm a pure int it's very usefull. Almost my lvl so does pretty good dmg and can survive longer than me >.<
Get one, and train it till he is your lvl or 3 - 4 lvl lower than yours, then it's going to be very easy for you, and you won't need to ress him, maybe 1 or 2 times

I got my wolf when I was about lvl 21. I'm lvl 26 now and my wolf is 24 and I love it. My wolf has died on me quite a lot of times, so it's been expensive rezing him, but I realized recently that transport recovery kits (from the stables) work to heal wolves too. So now I just carry a bundle of those with me and spam the quick slot for it if my wolf happens to be in trouble.
As others have said, it really doesn't take long for a new wolf to level up to around lvl 20. I bought a second wolf recently specifically to level it and sell for profit. I quickly leveled him to about 3 on mangyangs, then 8 on water ghosts/yeohas, then took him right to white tigers/chahjis for the rest. This second wolf is lvl 16 now, but whenever I try to sell, the only offers I get are 300k - 800k.
Why is it that a leveled wolf (albeit only lvl 16) doesn't seem to sell above 1 million?
I definitely think a wolf is worth it though. They are quite helpful.

I bought my wolf for 1.5M when its lvl 36.
I really love my wolf. It really helps me to lvl up faster.
Its currently same lvl as me.
It seldom die. Only a few times due to DC or ????error.
I mainly use lvl1 lightning imbue when fighting green mobs just for the extra dmg and cheap mp cost. (Im a fire glaive though, but only used fire when fighting giants, champions or NPC thieves due to high mp cost

)
So the lightning splash dmg will avoid my wolf from getting mobbed.
Why is it that a leveled wolf (albeit only lvl 16) doesn't seem to sell above 1 million?
I think you are trying to sell a named wolf?

No actually it is an unnamed wolf. From time to time, I would post "WTS lvl 16 wolf, no name, PM me offers" in the 'all' chat and people would PM me offers ranging from 300k to 800k. I did get an offer once for 1.5 million, but by the time I was able to do the exchange with him, he PMed me saying he bought a lvl 18 wolf from someone else for 1.8M
Whenever I announce it I always specify it is unnamed. I just don't know why I don't get any 1M+ offers anymore.

they are trying to rip you off. in all my time wandering stalls in donwang ive never seen a non name wolf stalled for less than 1mil. or even a named wolf for less than that. everyone adv. for more than the shop price. if you want to sell it, get it past lv 20 or 25 then advertise in stalls for 1.2mil or around that amount. but im going from aege server so..

Well I've given up trying to sell it for now anyway. I gave that wolf to my wife since she started playing on Venice with me. She might not have much time to play though anymore, since she works in daycare, so she might eventually give it back. Who knows

i sold my level 11 wolf for 1.2 yesterday which is about right seen as id spent 200k on grass of life i would recommend just paying for a level 20 or so wolf because the price difference you will spend on grass of life otherwise.
try get a no name one most of the names people choose suck

well... wolves are mainly sold at 1mil+ if they are over 20s or 30s...
i think u have made a mistake buying a second wolf, as it is relatively easy to get it to lvl16... its sumthing that can be done in 30mins or maybe a bit more at your lvl...

That is true, wolves do level quickly up to around lvl 20. At least my wife can benefit from the wolf since it's right about her level. She doesn't really play too often though so I don't see the wolf leveling up very quickly now.
To the person talking about spending so much on grass of life: transport recovery kits come in quite handy for that. They are a lot cheaper and work on wolves too. Buy a pack and put it in your quick slot in case your wolf gets in trouble. Sure beats having to run back to town to get a 50,000 grass of life potion and to lose wolf exp points when he dies.

Well I just got my wolf a few days ago and its already lvl 20, seeing as im lvl 24 it helps me out alot, and has never even got CLOSE to dieing, he has more hp than me although he can not withstand all the attacks atm. I'd say it was a great decision for me, that extra 100 dmg helps sometimes and does help me on grinding

Well about the only time my wolf dies is if I come across a trade run and get 1-shot killed by a high lvl NPC thief who then turns on my wolf... or this one time a giant demon horse attacked my wolf and I could NOT get it to attack me.

This was before I learned about recovery kits for pets.

I like my wolf, but I do wish they attacked a little faster or did a little more damage. I'm grinding on penons right now and my wolf only hits for around 300, often in the 200s. It's nice to let him finish off one as I target and run toward the next, though.

Agreed, especially the "attacked a little faster" part. It seems the wolf should be able to do more than just bite, pause, bite, pause, bite... What about swinging it's paws like tigers do?
I'd love to see a fire bull charging at thieves during a 5 star trade run. THAT would be a site to see

I dont bring my wolfs along on trade runs and just running back to town, that gives a risk of it dieing and theres no reason to have it out at that time.

I don't have him out for trade runs either, but I meant if I'm out grinding somewhere and a trade horse or camel happens to come through and I'm (un)lucky enough to get in the sites of one of its NPC thieves.

lol yeah so do I. just sometimes I don't see them coming. the thief-killing-wolf thing only happened once or twice before. other times it's when I mistakenly took the wolf grinding on monsters WAY too high for him, or if he gets hidden behind a giant and being attacked by a bunch of mobs. I often can't click on the other mobs to get their attention off the wolf, and simply running, the giant catches up and the mobs keep attacking the wolf. I can usually get out of the giant/mobbing one though.
