I doubt it will happen, really. Especially seeing as Silkroad 2 is just around the corner.

Because ... if it's going to run the same engine. It most likely won't incorporate anything new different from iSRO. It'll be the same old game, new looks pretty much.
So will it suck. I couldn't tell you that. If it's anything like SRO now it will be fun till gold sellers over run it. But honestly I don't see it releasing anytime soon. It's been rumored for years. Like since 5+ years ago.

They
willuse a different engine. In fact, they purchased the license quite some time ago now. So I wouldn't really worry about that. Obviously, they don't want to change the game too much, though. Even on a new engine, it would still be nice to be able t recognize parts of the old game, seeing as this is actually Silkroad 2 and not an entirely different game.
Yes, it has been rumored for 5 years, but the difference is that we now have an official website up and running, and an official note saying that csro will close, which means that this game (Silkroad 2) will come in and take over. Also, on a Korean game-news-site it is stated that the game is set for release in December, 2013 (probably official beta).
Besides, you can already register for an account, which shows that at least it won't be all that long before the first people will be able to play the closed beta (if there will be any).

PathEngine is not the whole game engine, it's just path finding and AI engine. But yeah, they bought that licence more than year and a half ago. But as ltsune said, it has been pretty much confirmed.

That is very much true. According to Elitepvpers, though, Joymax (or the company developing and running Silkroad 2) also bought a different engine. I'm not sure about its name right now, though.

I can't remember its name neither, but yeah. Still, they're not using the old engine so SRO2 won't be the same as SRO.
