What's the new "trend" for S/S nukers?

Post by DragonTalon »

Sorry this isn't in the Character Skills section but that area is dead.

Anyways, I recently started playing on a private server again and started up a S/S nuker. My idea was to go with Bich/Fire/Light but it seems that most people dropped Fire after the Euro update to pick up Ice for Snow Shield.

I hear that Light/Ice and Fire/Ice were the "best" builds for Chinese Pure Ints nowadays (from 90 cap until now) but my only problem with that is that the Ice nukes (if they were to be picked up at all) dont deal efficient damage. Back when 80 cap was around I could juggle between fire and light nukes because of their damage. So in a way I had two "main" nukes. Since picking up Ice is mainly for defense Im not quite convinced that sacrificing two mainly offensive masteries is worth it (though I could be wrong). But if I have to pick between fire and light I dont really know what to do. Is one primary nuke enough to deal damage?

Excuse my outdated-ness haha... Haven't played since 2008!

You'll have two Light nukes to use. There are two separate cooldown sets. And you won't be nuking all the time either. That's where your Bicheon skills come to play. Only Light nukes are enough I'd say.
I tried a 70:70 Pacheon/Cold/Force and I didn't use nukes at all and still did well with that char. :)

I really prefer Fire over Light, even though I absolutely love Ghost Walk: Phantom.
Pros:
    Stronger nukes
    Stronger imbue
    Phy dmg buff
    Mag deff buff
    Phy att passive
Cons:
Mobility isn't as great as with Light
    No mag dmg buff
    No parry rate buff

Fire nukes are stronger than light nukes + mag dmg buff.

Thanks for the replies!

So it seems based on your responses it's still between Fire/Ice and Light/Ice. So I take it that Fire/Light is completely out of the question now even though the damage is higher for it? If so, I will start deleveling Fire or Light if possible and just throw SP into Ice.

I guess my next question would be: what's the fastest way to delevel Fire? It's currently at 48 =/

On most pservers it's much better to just start a new character, than to collect all those cursed hearts.
