Yo im back to sro after a year, but then i saw all the servers were "populated" and werent ful like it usually is. Also, i lost my character on Rome. So im wondering wtf happened?

Nothing happened, nothing happens and nothing will happen. Dead game. Move on.

Many people left, either joined one of the new private servers, joined Sro-R or quit the game.
