heh, my nephew bots RS for gold to sell. He said they banned the bots and inside of 2-3 days the volume of bots on servers were back to normal. Kid was botting RS on his confirmation day while the adults were playing cards.

Would it be good for them(and you) if they banned all the accounts? :sohappy:

"If we were deeply commercial we wouldn't do anything about gold bots...we'd tax it" After he said this I can't help but think that's exactly what joymax is....deeply commercial. There were numerous discussions on SRF in the past about Joymax either owning the gold bots themselves or have some kind of business agreement with gold bot companies. Its hard not to think of this as true.

My thoughts exactly, this is why I'm moving to Guild Wars 2.

And that's why nothing significant has been done all these years to deal with the problem.

Yes because physicaly programing the Gold in and giving it the company's would just be silly instead we'll let them run gold bots drive off players and make servers full so no new players can get in... thus destroying future income

Gold bot companies being independent and having no agreement with joymax also doesn't make any sense.

If you're implying that the bot companies are a separate and independent company I find it hard to believe that joymax just stand idly by all these years and allow gold botters to reap huge profits from selling gold made from joymax's game.

If you think about all the servers with all the players that buy gold and total up the earnings every month or every year you will see that its a huge haul. Why would joymax ban or stop you or me over a simple charge-back on a small silk purchase and not care about gold botters exploiting them?

There are allot of games out there just like silkroad and have no agrements with bots just shitty management the problem with joymax is and always will be is that the poeple who control ISRO are the koreeans the team working on ISRO the GM's we see harldy have any rights on the game they can't do anything everything has to go throug the higger ups and they have no ideea whats going on in the game or they simply don't care.

shitty management is the problem of this game and always will be. Lets face it they could sell bots and or gold in the item mall if they wanted to wouldn't been the first game that did it
but instead they decide to share there profit ?... No i don't think so i think the higher ups like the money they get from the game and further don't pay attention to it or its gameplay and how its being ruined by player bots and gold bots why do you think so many GM's have quit in the past ?

I just like to see the contrast between Jagex and Joymax, were Jagex actually care for their games simply cause.. they invented it.. and don't want it run by computers but by actual players who form the community..

I'm sorry but that doesn't answer the question...Your saying that the higher ups simply don't care (or don't know what's going on...for over 5 years..ya right) and are ok with the money they get....There are hundreds of thousands of dollars being made by gold selling companies and they're exploiting joymax to make these numbers and they don't care about that? But they care about you or me doing a charge back?

It doesn't matter who is managing the game and how helpless they are...The owner of any business (higher ups) want huge returns and would not make a fuss over pennies while not caring about being exploited for thousands.

This whole situation got me puzzled because neither your view or mines makes any sense. You are right that joymax could just easily clone the gold rather than have gold bots in the game but them not caring doesn't make financial sense either.

I don't think joymax ever has made sence both of us could be right, I've talked to several GM's thoug wich always told me there was a huge barrier of understanding and power between the actual GM office and what the higher ups wanted.

All we can say is joymax sucks lol

.Well all i can understand is that they are there for the money, which you can't blame cause thats what everyone is there for.. thing is they are letting the game they created being overrun by computers vs computers, its like programming a single player game where theres a bot user fighting a bot mob over and over, if they had to ban every single bot 70% of SRO dies and the other 30% either quit ages ago, play pservers, will quit. Its to late for joymax to do whatever it wants to do now cause doing such an action will have the hugest impact on the business which is something they can't afford

Never to late for SRO to be saved all they need is a Iron fist and a money reserve that will last them a few months 5-6 to the most the game will live again if they would try

I +1 that also, joymax will not stop what they are doing simply because they have no reason to.
if everyone or nearly everyone stops playing, perhaps, maybe, there would be some changes. but for now.

GO PLAY ON A PRIVATE SERVER! I suggest SilkRoad Salvation >.>
