The ads aren't very annoying though , you can still see what you are searching for and find it quickly .

If you dont understand how google are making money then you shouldnt be commenting on whether their greedy or not.

Google is a business - their here to make money. And they always want to make more, hence the amount of power they have over internet.

Google are very greedy (not saying theres anything wrong with that).

Not the point. I was responding to your claim that Google offered free services, which they don't. If you're not paying for a product, you are the product. Doesn't matter if it's good or bad as long as you acknowledge it.

if google had bought sro, they would just drop and abandon it within a month. if somethings not making google money - they dont keep it.

You're not paying in cash, you're paying in self-submitted information and data. While that may not be all that valuable to you personally, it's a gold mine for companies who need your data, opinions, and personal information for marketing and optimizing their own data-based products, like search engines. I'm not sure how much further this can be watered down before it loses all its meaning.

I was serious in my answer, but don't take it too hard. I didn't mean they didn't care AT ALL about money, I'm just saying that JM is constantly trying to change the game to make more money and I don't belive that Google would do this, by looking at their other products.
