Hi guys,

I just bought a laptop but got some problems.

If I want to stall at night and i put my laptop in the adapter so it will
not happen that I got an empty battery but still my laptop is getting shutted down after like 1 hour or something

this are my Institutions

standby - never
shut down pc - never

So i thought with this institutions it will never shut down but it does.

Sorry for really bad english but i'm Dutch.

It may not be shutting down , it goes to "sleep" mode after a certain time that can be changed .

So go to Control Panel ---> Power Options ---> Change turn off display/sleep (or something like that) .

No its not going in sleepmode because it was setted at like after 30 minutes not doing anything, but i set that to never so its not going to sleepmode.

you turned it to never before you stalled last night or did you just do it?

you need to turn of windows updates too,, or atleast the option that it will auto restart at a certain point in time.

maybe the state where the laptop was in when you woke up this morning can shed some light on what happened.

1. was the power button "blinking" (not sure if it is the same for all laptops but my acer does blink)? and did you start up windows as you left it, just with SRO client dc'ed? (probably sleep mode or hibernate i guess)
2. was the computer completely off and needed reboot? (turned off for some reason)
3. where you windows (no sro client anymore) or windows account menu? (windows update i suspect)

4. did you buy a preinstall laptop with manufacturer crap on it? (i think my acer laptop had some extra battery management stuff in manufacturer crap software)

Yes I dit it before stalling!

The next day I woke up i dont remember anymore lol.

I think it was not blinking so it needed a reboot
but I will try tonight again and post what happened.

Now I think the problem is with the windows update because then he automatically shut down after the update so I guess is set it off tonight!

Laptops can stay months opened and don't get overheated , you will get decreased performance but it will be still working .

Most new laptops won't wait for it to get overheated , it will auto shut down when it reaches 90D C but that only happens when the air vent is blocked .

Don't have ur adapter connected and battery attached at the same time for a long time cos it's gonna fck up the battery and u won't last long without ur adapter.
