Hey so I have a huge 3hr break between classes on my campus and was wondering if anyone knew of a way to bypass the campus security to run the SRO client. I try to run it but get the server inspection when trying to open the launcher.

Does anyone have any experience in doing this?

It's not the "security" but more likely to be the firewall. Can you get to www.joymax.com/silkroad?

I don't know the other ports besides 80 and maybe 443 that need to be opened.

Talk with you're network admins, back when I was in uni I got several ports unblocked for me and my mates so we could game online (even though we "weren't allowed"), most network dudes are probably geeks themselves and will probably help if you're not a dick about it.

depends if u have premium or not..

But you only did it to talk to me, which is perfectly understandable.

Ask the admin to unblock the following ports:
routing port P.E.N. - 15
port 69

And check your firewall that these programs aren't blocked from running:
silkroad.exe
hackshieldupdate.exe

Some more info perhaps are you on a laptop ? on wireless ? on a regular computer ? its probaly the proxy blocking it ? if so use a proxy tunneler

Yeah I don't see what's wrong with it. It's my free time and I should be able to do what I want during that time. The people that I do hang out with on campus are in class during this time so I'm not an antisocial retard or a kid that plays Magic: The Gathering (like most people probably do on this forum).

I am using my own personal laptop on the campus wireless connection. Like others said before it's most likely the ports but will try the proxy when I have classes next.
