Life control?

So today I started talking with some random dude on sro. We're both wizards. As it would happen, I found out that he doesn't ever use LC when soloing. Like ever. Which was a crazy idea to me, seeing as how I've always used LC while soloing. So I asked my guild master, he also apparently never uses LC. Unless he's at a mob with no giants. So that got me to thinking, have I been doing it wrong the whole time? *Soloing as a wiz, that is*. Are we not supposed to use LC? Do you use it or not? If so, when? If not, why?

Use it if it allows you to 1-hit everything. Use it if you hand grind.
Don't use it if you are a botter. Bots are too dumb to know how to use Life Control and still survive.
Bots have no life, hence they can't use it properly, duh.

It's really mostly suitable for plvling. It's what makes wizard such good plvlers because (as well as their skills using much less MP) Life Control allows Wizards to hit considerably higher than Chinese Nukers.
Using life control while hand grinding, I'm sure you've noticed that any giant that spawns kills you, right? =p Well, that's not always the case when you aren't using life control.
However, if you find a spot with not many giant spawns and life control allows you to one-hit a General monster, where you would not be able to otherwise, then use life control and maybe just cancel it if a Giant spawns, use a potion to get full health, wait 10 seconds (for pot delay [5 secs left]), and attack the Giant.
My point is, if you are soloing, it is better not to use life control.

your choice to use it or not. i seldom ever use it when going solo, only because wizards do enough damage as it is. LC just boils grinding down to time vs endurance. on one hand, if you use LC, you reduce grinding time for a given level, but compromise your wizard's endurance by cutting down it's hp significantly. on the other hand, if you don't use LC, you'll spend more time grinding, but have a higher chance of survival. of course, cleric and bard buffs can compensate for a weak defense, but can only go so far. in other words, while buffs might protect you for a certain amount of time, the higher amount of hp might be the difference between life and death.

Personally I'm using it both solo and in party. For a giant I just throw in earth fence/bless+ healing cycle, recast LC and I'm good to go. For parties on higher level mobs, as long as I got some warrior buffs I use it too.

for general monsters too strong for you to 1 hit them--> LC
once a giant coems along: LC off and earth fence on
