Some please explain to me why i lagg out so bad in at FORTRESS war i can'nt do anything? every player around me is still moving and fighting BUT I cant do anything! i click and click and my char just stands there, after about 10 mins he'll move like 3ft...

I have $1500 laptop. i7 processor 8gb RAm etc...

WHY DO I LAGG?

might be ur internet connection

Firewall , antivirus , and maybe other software that intercept / filter patchets from sro to your isp and you .

Laptops are never as good as a Desktop
but is probably ur internet/other programs.
I know when I run Limewire my FPS drops to 5 fps

hide/show friends/allias is extremely helpful in fortress. not just for reducing lag but also for ressing/selecting other targets ect.

What has framerate to do with lag?

connection or your lying about your lap top

its has nothing to do with your hardware.

i had the same problem last FW, I cant entirely explain it, but its joymax's routing config.

The game will run FINE if you goto pvp area or just run around sro, but at FW, when theres massive crowd of players, it seems to reroute your priority, and favor "specific countries" which i wont name, dont wanna create hate thread.

and you can see its not normal lag, its like you are ABLE to see exactly whats going on, but all the commands you execute get in a "queue" and get done after 1min~..... which further makes me believe they prioritize players by their routing connection

Either upgrade your connection and/or get off wireless. <-- could also be the server.

Definitely your internet connection could be lagging. The processor and the RAM of the laptop are certainly not an issue, but since it's a laptop, it probably does have a slower hard drive. So a combination of the slow hard drive and lagging Internet connection may be slowing you down.

Do you have Cable Internet? If so, and your neighbors are online downloading a lot of data, your connection will lag. Cable isn't a dedicated connection like DSL is, even though DSL tends to be slower max speed, around here anyway.

Low FPS starts to feel like lag
