Running two silkroad clients on same ip!

Sup guys,

My mate just came over, I told him about the new acts of joymax and he kinda liked it. He logged into his old char on Xian. Anyway, when I wanna start my client and log into Tigris I keep getting the c10 error. The weird thing is that when he logs off, I can login again. It seems like Joymax restricted the amount of silkroad versions running per IP to only one... Why would they even do that?

Anyway, I tried everything! Rebooted my pc, tried to log into other servers, restarted my internet connection etc.

Nothing seems to help! So I'm asking you guys with two pc's if you could please try to start one client on each pc and tell me if you can login on both at the same time - thanks!

Sounds like a media.pk2 edit not IP based

Hm... I do use a modified pk2 file to get rid of the ugly skill bar..... I'll try to download the official media again and see if it works.

Thanks for your reply :)

EDIT: Searching for the original pk2 but can't find the right one :palm:. Could anybody do me a huge favor and upload yours (if it's official). I'm kinda lost atm....

That means I'll have to download silkroad again, which will take about 3 hours and take up all the internet so my mate can't play....

Dude, the media pk2 file is like 500+ mb so it will be the same thing if we upload then you download lol. It is recommended that u make a backup of the file in the case u need it (as you do right now)

I had a backup but as everything have been working fine for months, I decided to delete it.

Anyway, the whole sro is 1,28gb a compressed media.pk2 should only be about 200mb. But well... I guess I'll just have to download sro over night and hope that it works.

Btw, have any of you guys tested if it's possible to start two sro's at one IP?

EDIT!: I found a installation file and installed the game. It's still the same though, it isn't possible to have to clients running on the same ip!

EDIT 2: As I just said, we've just tested with 100% original files. Still not working. So.... if anybody could check if they can get it working and reply here, it would just be great!

Highly doubtful... probably a router/port issue.

just transfer it over your network, using "hfs". 1-10mbs depending if wireless or wired, but make sure ur not running anything too cpu intensive

Totally possible. Friends of mine had the same problem, they fixed it when they called the provider and he did something. I don;t remember what exactly but try calling yours and tell them what the problem is.

Did you try turning UPnP on, on your router?

Will try that out!

EDIT: I tried it now. My mate connected to 26 and I connected to 28. It's still the same issue. The one who gets in first, can play. The other guy gets the c10 error.
And thanks for all the replies, guys! If nothing else helps I'll call my provider.

I Don't even know what this is :?
EDIT: I read a bit about it on some help forums. However, I can't see why this should fix the problem?

Well sometimes this helps if you are having like a LAN through your router with things like 360s and such. That and the NAT shit. I've tried to open multiple SRO's on my desktop and laptop and got same problem so just gave up

Well... I do not have anything else connected to my wireless except these two pc's. I'll try to transfer the sro files to my laptop atm and see if they can start from there.

I log my characters just fine on different computers. There is no IP restriction this can't be set because of internet cafe's.

Reconfig your Router / Modem firewall.

Okay guys. I just tried to transfer the files to a laptop with windows xp installed and it successfully started the game. Therefore I can conclude that it's an issue related to windows 7 or something like that. Sadly you nearly can't play from the laptop as it's kinda crappy.....
But again, it sucks not being able to play silkroad with a friend at your place.

I did some searching and it seems that c10 error appears if somebody else is trying to connect to the game using the same mac address as you are. However, I don't really wanna start messing with that shit as I don't know how it works etc.

So therefore, does anybody have any experience about changing mac address?

I've had this problem before, with two laptops. All we needed to do was plug one of them directly into the router.

Thanks for all the replies guys!

I'm getting a new internet provider in a few days so I won't bother calling my current provider. Hopefully it will work better ;) If not, I'll try the plugin direct into router thingy

I have 2 computers(one directly connected to router, one wireless)
with no problem running 2 sro client at the same time.

Ditto: I have a laptop plugged into a switch that connects to my router, and my main pc plugged into my wifi router. Neither one connects directly to my Comcast cablemodem, though, and I can still run one client on each computer. Just verified this morning.

@Cell: I thought the same thing

@Itsune: Both my brother pc and my laptop are using wifi connection from my room. None connected directly to modem. Stilll both connect to sro same time.

From the re-search I did, it seems it's not. c10 is when your mac code is already being used.

What OS do you have?

I'm sure if you check your routers setting there is away to set it where it will let you run as if you have two different Mac addresses. Should be something like LAA or w/e.

I think it's more to do with your router and ISP than anything. Some ISPs are douche bags and make it where you can only use their modem to get a connect and some routers are shitty and don't auto assign different devices correctly.

And there is no error for trying to log in to an account that is already logged on... its always been the same message... User is already connected to server, please try again in 5 minutes.

You're probably right. However, I do not have any username and login to access the router settings. I would have to call my provider then. And as I am gonna receive my new router from a new provider later today (will probably be there when I get home), I won't bother calling for access to the settings.

Again, thanks a lot to everybody for taking their time to help me out ;) I'll test with the new router tomorrow I guess.

Itsune, I think you are confusing router and modem. I've never seen an ISP give out a router with the modem. They usually just provide a modem. So you do have an actual router as well right? and you have to have a modem or else no internet connection.(so I know you have that)
