SRO bot, Auto AFK bot, Bot a Dam, Wow Bot, Gold Bot, SRO hacks.... on and on the list goes.

Kinda ironic SRF with it's strict anti-bot rules...

Mods should consider finding different advertisements.

Noticed them too, and we must not demention bot names here in GD, well no problem when people can see them at top of the screen. Are ads removeable? They're everywhere!!

The mods are here to enforce the rules and they don't have control over what add gets placed on here which in this case I think is a bit retarded. The SRF cops/mods are given a job to keep the forums clean while their boss is doing the exact opposite.

If I'm not mistaken, which I could be, ads are chosen based on content of the site they are being advertised on.

Google pays the owners for letting them place the ads on their site. Google places ads of other customers that pay for advertisement on sites that are similar to it. So this is why you see the gold companies sites here and not at some Car forum(which would probably have ads for autozone or something)

Anyways they pay depending on traffic to the site. So just get adblock and you don't have to look at it.

Come on guys,

Let's be reasonable here. As stated above, Google pays sites to allow them to place Ads on their sites. You guys should be pretty damn glad that you have not seen ads like that, or any others that you see on so many sites, because Ryoko has been paying for this (SRF) out of his own pocket.

Those Affiliates that he has on the left as well bring him a little revenue to keep the site up (Minus TH.net thats more like a Sister Site.. in a way.. complicated..) anyway, the Forum Staff unfortunately does not have a choice as to what gets advertised by google, and as stated above, it is generally companies that pay Google to advertise them, related to certain subjects. Well in this case, SRF's subject is SRO, and the people who have paid Google to advertise them on that respective subjects are companies who hack/bot/sell gold.

It really does suck that those are the things that get Advertised, but in all honesty SRF needs money to stay afloat, and if that Google Ad helps Ryoko maintain the site up, then i think we should at least understand why they are here at the moment...

Be glad it's a tiny line, with a couple of words, not those big flashy picture/gif adverts you see on other sites for like Games or Enlarge your Epines size today!

The adds goes against what this forum stands for and that's all there is to it...many members that have been banned for admitting to botting, buying gold, etc could have put up a compelling argument as to why they done it..... but it didn't matter and they got banned immediately so your rationalization is pretty weak.

Just ask yourself one question...if some new member joined this forum and didn't fully read the rules and saw these adds...click on it and bought some gold...then started posting how he found the price of gold to be reasonable then get banned for doing it...Would that be right?

If the forum owner wants to change the rules so the adds can stay up then that's fine but anyone with a brain will cry hypocrisy if the forum rules remains the way they've been for years with these adds being allowed

Did you fail to read? We cannot choose what's being advertised in that line, and since this site is about SRO there will be SRO sites linked in there. And what are the major sro sites on the interwebs? I can understand Ryoko wants some cash one way or another to keep this site up, he hasn't played in ages so you should be glad he kept this site running all this time. He could remove the ads but that means either we have to pay up or he shut it down.

I'm not here to Argue with you BuDo, however do not question where i stand when it comes to SRF, i have had to remove people that i consider friends, and have maintained outside contacts with from this site because they broke the rules.

The community in SRF is a reason why even though i am no longer an Admin or SRO player i still return, but let it not be mistaken, i did my job just as the current staff do when i bore the Crimson Name.

its not like those sites are going to change someones mind. If someone is going to bot, they will bot and if they want to stay legit they will.

@BuDo, well they should know that using a bot is against ToS and if they decide to do it by looking at those ads there is a pretty good chance they would have done it anyways.

Did YOU fail to read?...I've already stated in an earlier post that I realize that the mods have no control over what adds get placed on here. I'm simply disputing the hypocrisy being displayed here by the people in charge (Ryoko as you put it). You'd be an idiot to not acknowledge and argue against the hypocrisy. Justifying that Ryoko needs money by allowing these adds goes against the rules outline by Ryoko himself. Its his forum he does what he wants but no one here can deny the double standards.

BuDo, You're talking a lot, but you're really not saying much. The advertisements have no affiliation with SRF. After all you're making a big deal about a silly ad... I hate to break it to you, but real life is full of hypocrisy. Either way I see all kind of ads on other sites... I don't go and buy what's in those ads, why would I buy what's in this ad?
