[Official] Comparison of Fire vs Light Dmg + Bonus ! <3

Backstory: I got bored, decided to switch my 105 (102 ff skills) fire ice bich nuker to light ice bich. Unlike most ppl that have switched between these builds, I have decided to do it early at 105 so that I can compare the dmg. Enjoy, and pls reference me, Goseki, if you decide to use it.

Since I'm doing it, I might as well do it right. This will also be comparing the 102 fire and ice imbue. This is just in case I run out of sp and can't get the light imbue maxed before 106 . As a result, you can see the dmg diff between fire and ice imbue, and if I don't get the light imbue on time, I can compare the dmg between fire vs light by using ice imbue.

As a bonus, I will also be including the bich attacks with an without the phy dmg buff. To see if there is really any point in a pure int taking it. The tested character only has the phy attack buff to 9% and passive to 9%, so phy dmg inc is 18% total.

Bich Blocking Buff and Bich Force Series for Pure Int
I didn't max these, but brought them up to lvl 80 and 60 to test.

1) Blocking Buff, lvl 80 35% inc is quite noticeable against a bower spamming kb. Specially when you take into account the natural bich passive. Not sure how I'm gonna be able to screenshot this though...

2) Bich Force Series, lvl 60 has phy def shield 50% red, and phy attk 80 inc. NOT NOTICEABLE AT ALL. I hit roughly the same, maybe like 500 more dmg. Similar to fire's phy def buff, a pure int does not benefit from this at all. Only time I see myself using this is for fun against a wiz, but prob not. I've seen bladers use it and you can see their dmg jump. For me, not much changed at all. Not worth the sp imo.

Already started. Actually only got around 80 lvls left. Gonna buy some silk later to fix the higher lvl skills. The lower lvl ones I never used I already delvled.

Prob unless the dmg is horrifically lower. In FW, i find it sucks ass to be a fire ice bich nuker. No mobility to chase or run away at all.

Thanks for doing this, when I finish with school, I'm going to play SRO again and maybe figure out which build to go with fire/ice/bich or light/ice/bich.
So far my skills are only up to lvl 60 and I was farming with only 400k sp right now, but I hope your experiment works well and is accurate.

I'm lv 104 and i just switched to light. I hit harder with light like 3~4k more than fire but there's only 1 good nuke (2 for fire and 1 fast nuke), other cool things are speed, phantom and parry ratio bonus (almost 700 parry ratio for me).

He proved in that screenshot that the phy. dmg. bonus isn't worth shit. Maybe 500-600 more with 18% bonus.

The only good thing about fire that can't be replaced is the fire wall. Cleric gives better mag def and holy spell. As for phy dmg... well yea it's shit for a pure int.

well now ur talking as if every char has euro buffs, exluding the fire mag def, immunity, etc..
and the phy dmg increase does make a way bigger difference, i tested it myself too, with heuksal.
what u gonna do against a good wiz on turnover? without fire walls u wont last 2 or 3 hits. or how helpful walls are vs a warrior, against which ur mag dmg increase gets completely avoided since without fire wall u get kb/kd all the time.

Like I said, personal playing style. We'll see after I finish experimenting if the dmg inc is an illusion or not.

On my server, every char will have a euro buff. People with cleric subs make up approx 75% of my server. Not hard to find one in a war.

I'll agree walls are great against wiz and warriors, but only in 1v1. In group.... a wall is pointless since it makes you rooted to one spot. I prefer to dash AWAY if a wiz is going nuke crazy or if a warrior is fully buffed and I can't do shit at the moment except tank.

But hey, if you want to try and tank a sun 2h and spam ur firewall be my guest. I've done it too many times and died too many times.

BTW, I'm not trying to say light is better overall, I just prefer it, hence I'm switching. I'm just showing the result of my switch to help others since most ppl get advice from ppl that have never had experience on both sides of the argument.

i did it in the previous cap, and i do it now.
ur not gonna kill a full nova warrior without fire wall, the dmg is already 'not enough', and then if u add the fact u are 24/7 kb/kd..
and yes im talking about 1 vs 1, if u only care of group pvp then i agree light is better, but i'd go wiz cleric tho

Chinese are not for group pvp. With or w/o light u still gonna be 1-2 shotted by a decent wizard. Will you use phantom walk like an offensive skill? Doubt it. U can use it only to run away, that wont help u kill people. So yea, as fire/cold lover Im looking forward to see the results of ur experiment.

Ah, my reply was directed at an all around (including PvP) build that is only reliant on itself. If your play style is only group then sure, go light. But then, why not bard for speed leaving yourself many more nuke to choose from (by using fire instead of light).

Bump! Updated Light at 90, some VERY interesting results so far. Can't wait till light is 102

May i suggest casting each skill a hundred + times and then crunch the numbers for averages?

It's easier to cast the skill for 30 mins and seeing which number pops up as highest. I have attk rating maxed and 80% white. It hits the max pretty often. I'm pretty sure because I wait till the dmg appears more than 3 times and is the exact same each time. For the actual test, I spent around 30 mins casting each skill, and screenshoting every high value until i get a max.

For the 90 light update I just did it for 10 mins and see the highest. The results from when I was a Fire nuker I'm pretty sure off. Spent several hours and like I said, those were highest value that appeared consistently.

Light skill @ 102, nukes @ 100 just like fire.

Only have Ice imbue right now, but it shows for sure that light hits harder nuke-wise and bich-wise!!!

At 110 Fire will win over Light, you'll have 2/3 up to date nukes where Light has one (at lvl 106 even).

i prefer fire/ice, but for speed i prefer light, idk i find light A lot more fun then fire, more mobility is fun when in job war, guild war or fortress
