Why do people stack so many pots in their inventory?

This is a picture I found on the forum here:

Why do people take so many pots at once? I only take 200-300 hp and mp pots each time to go grinding. By the time I'm out of pots (approx. 2 hours) I either have to repair, empty my inventory (even with a pickup pet) or I'm tired of grinding.

I know a lot of legits and none of them take more than 300 pots each to go grinding. The only people I know that stack so many pots, are botters.

So is it wrong from me to assume these people are botters?

When your max mp as a pure str is 10k+ and your skills use 1-2k+ mp 200 mp pots don't last as long as you think. Pure int probably have mp issues as well. Unless your a bard blah blah blah....

The one from the screenshot was lvl 65. I have a 67 nuker and I waste a lot of pots as well, but not nearly as much as the guy on the screenshot.

A glaive char eats through pots, when I was around your lvl I had like 1k mp and that lasted me around 2 hours on my sworder.

I don't really get the point either. The more potions you stack the less slot you've got for drops. Even if you stack up this much potions it won't mean that you can stay out hunting for more hours (except if you have a pickup pet) because your inventory will be full in less than 30 minutes.

It only makes it more likely that the person bots, but it does not exclude the few legits who prefer to stay on site and grind for hours, who accidentally bought a lot of horse scrolls (because grinding for as long as your items duration hold will yield a lot of drops, and the first few things one would discard are horse scrolls; so people who regularly do it do not carry that many horse scrolls).

With regular CTF, and very few legits to start with, it makes it very unlikely there are any more legits who stay grinding on site for long hours anyway.

tldr: likely, but not certain someone bots based solely on pic given

Im usally grinding in a 8 man at 102 mobs on my blader and take out 200hp pots and 1400mp pots, and can stay out there for 5 hours. Just depends on the person, if you pick up tabs, alchemy mats etc, which I dont so all I pick up is gold and item drops, and if your hardcore player or can only grind for 2 hours at a time.

Why do people stack so many pots in their inventory?
So they don't need to go in town only when pots and durability is over .

Thats like asking why do hospitals buy more than one needle, or why they have a storage for excess amount of blood that they won't need at that moment

you are probably a low lvl. nooby that don't use many pots, virtually 1 MP pot is use for every atk for str. and nukes use huge amount of mana too even if they have alot....200 pots just lol, can probably only use 300 skills....in a share pt with bard/cleric...they are not needed. having only 100 of each will be fine.

47k Mp and strongest hit takes 11.3k and 3.2k mp (nuke+imbue) That's 14.5k mp for 1 time dmg...Unless you got your pots really low it will take idd a pot each, maybe even more since we only got xl. Also with snow it absorbs 45% of the dmg so that takes quite some mp too if you get raped.

Not everybody has the luxury of grinding in an 8 man euro party where u have a cleric who heals your hp, and a bard who heals your mp. Believe it or not DA, alot of people solo grind, and alot of people dont like to go back to town that often. The pic you show us is of a chinese char, if my memory serves me correct, MOST players don't allow chinese in parties because of some myth about they ruin the xp sp rate, and so they solo.

Why ask why? Not everyone lives by the rules of the confederation on Venus.

Take your witch hunt else where.

You don't stack that much pots?.....Anyways having a lot of pot helps you to grind for longer periods. I think I am gonna get that inventory expansion item and some re-pair hammers.

I have a lvl 67 nuker as well, which I soloed to that lvl. So I know what I'm talking about.
I'm not accusing anyone of botting or telling anyone to ban anyone.

Believe it or not, not everything's about Venus.

I stuff my inventory with as many pots as I can fit. Saves me from going back to town too soon.

At higher levels, when you grind in an area far away from town (like Qin-Shi Tomb B3/B4), having to go repot and then run back to the spot is a bit annoying and time-consuming. It is normal for any player to try and stay out for as long as possible, just to save the 20~30 minutes of running back to their spot. As a blader grinding at B3, I used to stack up lots of MP pots, because running out of MP was the most common reason to have to go back to town. Even if I got tired after a couple hours of grinding, I used to leave my char sitting in a safe spot somewhere in the caves while I was AFK. That way I was able to grind for about 4~5 hours (not nessesarily consecutive) without having to go to town.
Dark Ashelin wrote:So is it wrong from me to assume these people are botters?

Yes. If you haven't had "the pleasure" to solo grind on a level 90+ chinese char, I'm afraid there's a chance your assumption to be wrong. As much as we might not like it, everyone is innocent (legit) until proven guilty (botter).

I literally just came from a grind runs at egws. I'm a pure int s/s nuker and I used more than 500 pots of both hp and mp for sure, if not more. Legits actually use MORE pots than botters if they know how to grind. I'm tanking 3-6 mobs at a time and after finishing a quest of 500 mobs which was about 45-60 mins, I was almost out of hp pots.

Let's see, str based so uses a lot of mp pots, level 67 so grinds in the caves. Pretty much sums it up

83 str glaive, grinding in the tomb on 82-84 mobs...at a minimum I carry 8 HP stacks, and 16 MP stacks (1200 pots total)...usually will last 4-6 hrs on solo/xp distro grind, but if grinding in share party, time is reduced to 1/2 of that. (+3 gear and those god forsaken party tombstones hurt, so i try to keep to the physical mobs).

My PC is really crummy, and no prem, so 1) if I get in to grind 2) I try to stay out of town (PC loves to DC especially when teleporting) 3) if I absolutely have to go to town, I run/ride there which is major pain in the butt)

Sidenote: Been trying to get logged into Xian for a week, no luck :/

My lvl 76 nuker carry 1000 mp pots Xlarge and 600 hp pots xlarge, im thinking on lowering the hp and carring more mp, trusth me once u reach lvl 70+ (if you ever do) you will find that when ur nukes use 2k mp each one, imbue another 2k, 200 mp pots xlrage wont last more than 1 hour, no matter how much mp ur char does have. I always need to repot before the spear broke up or the inv gets filled, i only pick up gold, usefull tabs (int, str, stamina and so on) and of course equip/weapons.

Chinese chars definitely burn through pots more so than Euro's. Anyone with a cleric sub and RD - HP pot usage is reduced.

I'm a bard/cleric and take 100-150 pots at a time, grind for 2+ hours and have to come back to town more often for repairs than I do for pots.

Anyway, someone with high durability on their gear could easily take that many and go 4 hours grinding.

At 93 inside the tomb I carried something like 12 stacks of HP and the rest of my first inventory page full of MP. Then another 2 lines of MP in my rabbit..or something along those lines.

If you really needed to ask that question you

a) were powerleveled (most likely by a bot)
b) grind with euros
c) grind for 30 minutes and give up
d) grind with minimal skill usage, making it very slow

Carrying a LOT of potions is common for any player, even at low levels..And at higher levels drops are SO uncommon that your inventory being full was not a concern.
