just out of curiosity iv been looking very closely to the updated client this week. after tearing it down and comparing it to the previous client, it looks like this new update may be preventing multi-client.
how it works:
Spoiler!
when you run sro the client generates a random number. when you login that number is sent into the sro system so they know that your client is now logged into the system. when you select your char and connect the system does a scan to see if your client number is already logged in. if it is, sro_client will close. the only way i think you can reset your client number is to d/c. im not the best at deconstruction and reading files so someone more tech savvy may want to double check.
on the outside, joymax doesn't appear to be doing much to stop the botting problem, but i now believe that they are at least making an effort to control it.
So I guess it depends on the bot you use. Some must already have it cracked. I just logged in and a lot of player bots are gone in my grindspot. Joymax seems to have a mild success here... For now

As you can see multi client is disabled since the last inspection and servers are still full (or almost). Is not the player bots who make the server full, are those greedy goldbots.

I think gold bots use multi-clients as well. It makes financial sense. And if you read the earlier postings you will see one poster saying that he knows or knows of a player who is still using multi-clients. "9 stall form the same dude in hotan"

98% of the teenage population put something gay like "98% of the teenage population will try, does or has tried smoking pot. If you're one of the 2% who hasn't, copy & paste this into your signature.". If you're one of the 2% who hasn't, copy & paste this into your signature

No, goldbots uses clientless with hackshield emulator. The limitation is on the Silkroad client, it checks that hackshield is running and closes SRO if another hackshield instance is running at the same time. No client = no hackshield check = multi botting for all goldbots. The hackshield emulator responses the hackshield packets requests by the server so they don't get DC.
