Any pk2 edit that can disable loading in graphic process?

i mean... when you log in, no graphics, no skins, no quality skills, only lines and polygons(possibly GUI is still there). The characters and building are polygons. You can still do the thing as a normal client can do, but only removing the satisfaction on a actual graphics can do. Though it might suck for all those people who have high-end System's and Laptops/Notebook, but it is really much useful to those who cant afford and yet to afford a High-End or High-Mid Systems or LT/Notebooks.
think of the possibilities when stalling! no RAM or CPU Issues!
Low-End Systems Units or notebooks/laptops(currently, like mine; i always play in iCafe's but i'm out of dough cuz its summer, no allowance

) can play without overclocking!
Slow Systems can play with the highest resolutions! and ETC!
Any idea?

the alteration are only applicable in the client side. nothing is changed inside the game nor does alter the server in anyway.
Edit: is it about the
GM console?

i kinda need a solution for this too.
and especially my brother, we are saving for new pc's but it will take us some time.
I got 2.0 single core and my bro 1.7 single core... and it's a pc, not a laptop. my gfx cart is like 5-6 years old, really it aint fun at all.
i play with lowest settings and clientless, when a unique is there and it starts spawning mobs theres 90% chance i dc.
so i'll never be able to go to fortress war with this junk :')

I can run a normal SRO client with all low settings but it would take a minimum of 3 mins. to load and you cant imagine how laggy it is when i'm really in game. regarding about buy new PC: looks at CeLL's post below yours. About OS: have you seen first pic above?

If you turnoff all that background shit you have on..you'll see an amazing increase in performance =|
You could go through every single skin and replace it with a blank skin..but that would take ages. I'm sure there are other ways but I haven't tried for like 2 years =\

You can try this:
http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.htmlIt shuts down unnecessary crap that's running in the background. I haven't tried it but it's worth a try.

i just did and it improves the loading of the game from a standard and laggy minimum 3mins. to a eye catching 1min. and 45 seconds(i counted

).... partially laggy but it did increased (a bit) the performance i needed. Judging from the Lagg'ness i tested with and w/o the gamebooster, the Lagg'ness reduced to like 80% upon loading. But i havent really tested in-game since i kee getting the C9 errors

... and i didnt touch anything in my sro folder yet!
Thanks for the Concern TOL!

PK2 edit is allowed as long as it doesn't affect the server and other players around.

especially joymax cares.

I played silkroad on a laptop with about the same cpu and integrated intel graphics for like 2 years. Never prevented me from stalling with the window minimized.

dude turn rain meter and fences off they both take large amounts of ram and cpu, also maybe use that gamebooster and you should able to run sro on the lowest of settings without lag.

i do turn them both off. they awfully use a little bit of the cpu cuz they always update the visuals in the desktop every .5 sec, and i need that little bit of the cpu power. tnx for the tip ^^ but i already know

If the only thing you really do with that laptop is play SRO, install Ubuntu on it, install wine, and install SRO. Your graphics will work MUCH better.

You could install Ubuntu on a USB thumbdrive and run everything from there so you don't have to get rid of anything on your hard drive. Portable SRO FTW!
Disclaimer: I've only used the Linux + wine + SRO setup on computers with an nVidia card, even an older GeForce FX5200 card. I'm not sure how well it will work on other types of cards. Could be worth a try, especially if you go the bootable USB route.
