I've always heard of this "duping bug" from stalls out of town and stuff...
Now, I don't want any stupid comments saying "omg same as 2 years ago omg!"
Can someone (just for educational purposes xD) tell me how this works? Not How to do it, just how it works.

I've done the bug without knowing before, can't quite recall all the steps though..It involves buying a stack-able item from an npc or a stall, moving the stack-able item to another place in your inventory where there is only a single item, make sure to move it right before you teleport to another city. I was torrenting a lot of stuff when I got it to work the first time, which is probably why it even worked.

I remember back in the 80s cap, there was a common bug that duped items in ur inventory... I learnt it from a guy who was trying to scam my sun bow
I think its prolly the one u mean cuz it involves a stall and you being outta town.
It goes like this:
There's player x (scammer) and player y (sun owner) -examples-
Player x and y should be outta town
Player x asks player y to stall his sun outside town for a reason.
Player y stalls his sun (still in modifying stall status)
Player x tells him to stall it for a price (suns would be worth more than 999m but they have no choice but to go as high as that price)
Player y stalls it for 999m, but doesn't open yet.
Player x tells him to open stall and to register in stall network.
-this is where the bug happens, ur out of town, it won't register in SN.. So the item disapears from the stall slots, however, its still there but only the other guy could see it.
Player x can't see ur weapon yet, so he leaves the stall and re-enters again.. And its there for 999m or any price set.
Player x asks u to add any item or to just open the stall.. And when u do he buys it.
Player y can still see his item in his inventory, but its just an icon, once he dies/teles or res back to town the icon goes.
Hope this helped u understand how this dupe works.. Education wise ;P

Nope they fixed it, though a friend of mine in another server claims he did it (1year ago)
He could be lying or, it could be a similar bug

I am very very sure it still works but it's really not nice to scam like this -.-
Anyway, everybody knows about it, I guess. At least my mate at Xian (when I played there) tried to do it a lot but he failed as everybody knew about it

I knew you would come around and say that HejsaN, lol...
But seriously... it was my mate. If you don't believe me, you can talk to him yourself
I found out about this bug in the harsh way.... my sos lvl 64 sword got scammed by a guy doing this thing, lol. I'll never put anything in a stall again just to show a guy(Paranoia much?)

i lost my friends wolf to this method. So i was showing him how it was done and he went to train afterwards without teleporting and the mp pots turned into arrows and everytime he picked up an mp pot it added 1 arrow till he got to 250 then it dissappeared at 250. I only got it to switch to arrows.

The only time gold were being duped for real, in a mass was back in the 60 cap. I remember it was in 2006.
Chaud and a few others involved.
Gargamel was on the case.
At the end there were a rollback and handfull of accounts get the banhammer.
Imagine more than 10b of gold. In the 60 Cap.

Ah!
Thanks for the replies people?
I still don't get it, especially the x and y part...does it not cost the scammer 999m to buy it then?
Otherwise its not even a scam...

If someone buys something for 999m that is worth more than 999m, it will most likely be viewed as a scam, especially if the the owner of the item didn't intend on selling it in the first place.

Well that's not a duping bug, thats just the staller being retarded enough to stall his item for 999m when it's worth more!
