Hey, I was updating my Kaspersky Antivirus today and i thought i'd look through the reports logg, only to find that for the past 2-3 weeks or so theres has been "Detected Keylogger" activity every hour or so i was thinking maybe it's something to do with silkroad new hackshield? and that Kaspersky thinks it's a keylogger? It everytime it says it was detected it then says it was "Not Terminated" so i'm guessing my Antivirius is stopping it. Also it won'nt show the location of the keylogger?. BUT i was just wondering if anyone else had something similar??? or whether i've actually got a keylogger?

Yes, because he is reporting that he might potentially have a keylogger may not mean he HAS used malicious programs. Im other word a bot. That is a stupid comment to make. Hey, not everybody plays SILKROAD. However, people are also keylogged to obtain financial information too.

I believe its just the new hackshield dio.

A keylogger comes with a trojan, or is downloaded directly and is malmware.

the thing is that for a keylogger to success it needs 2 people: the attacker and you, said so, if the attacker wants to take your sro pw he will try directly or indirectly to have his virus handed to you in many forms, like "Click here for free silks!!1shift+1!!". Thats why people is encouraged to stay away from any suspicious sites related to sro. Although it can be used as well to get other info and can be obtained from emails, freeware, p2p, phising sites, etc.

So i'm 99% confident that hackshield isn't the problem. Get rid of it and change any pw or info you think it's important or more likely to be at risk.

Yes. And the only way to get a trojan is either visit bad sites or launch bad programs. What's so hard to understand? You'll never find a trojan in SRF or from launching Yahoo Messenger.

A keylogger or trojan or any other malware can come from what appears to be legit. I have gotten them from a file on cnet that I thought was a virus scanner. Reaming a 12 year old boy for making a mistake and trying to troubleshoot it (not ruling out Joymaxes glorious programing history) doesn’t make you any better of a man. Shit.

No offence, but i don't want to go in discussion, got a degree in computer management and doing Programmer engineer right now. No need to push people in corners.
My advice: use your head, thats the best virusscan anti malmware firewall there is.

hack shield that JM uses to protect SRO work weird..basically it knows everything that happens on your pc every file etc:) enjoy it

i'm sure hackshield will eventually just become the "sroguard" popup rather than an actual program (like old gameguard)

seriously, they wont need it if they find a way to inject the antimulticlient packet without hackshield

avast! used to pick up sro_client.exe as a trojan/virus back when i played isro.

hackshield monitors your memory for any changes in sro_client so for example if you use a loader and such it will modify the memory and be detected by hackshield. however if you use something to inject packets to lets say buy a pot without you buying it in game. it will not be detected because it does not modify any memory dedicated to sro.

Diatron, same problem with me.
I've downloader silkroad from Joymax web site.
I scanned client before instal with Kaspersky Pure. Was clean.
After when I installed it...
Client updated and when i press start, Kaspersky shows me sro_client.exe has a keylogger.
