I don't know if this is a repost but god damn 17.1 billion won (14 million USD) in half a year? That should be more than enough to hire a team of GMs for each server.

Well, without money you can have nothing.
And a few people will get rich to rip off taxpayers for millions of dollars.
That's even worse. Meh

They still have to advertise, host servers, pay bill etc. Id be interested in how much PROFIT they are making. Not the Revenue.

I believe that number is net profit. I don't see revenue mentioned in the article. Google chrome flagged the site? Does that mean that the koreans are spying on us?

hmmm so i wonder how much money is going into his pocket...
if he has 214 employees paid lets say at about 50k dollars a year each... its 10M700k...
28M-10M700K=17M300K... now i doubt he pays more than 5M in both advertisement and to keep up the servers... so he has to pocket at least 12M each year...
not bad for a shitty game

doesnt work like that. its a shareholder corporation, so he only owns a majority of the company through shares. he more than likely takes a salary and bonuses as do the other majority shareholders

Are u retarded?..what GMs?..do u see any?OT: Seriously..how much would it cost them to hire 2 GMS logging on a few hours each day to ban bots?..Does anyone here thinks that will put a major dent in their profits?...Everyday I'm convinced joymax doesn't care at all...

The game developer's net profit came in at 17.1 billion won on annual sales of 32.9 billion won in 2008.
Expenses = Revenue - profits = 15.8 billion won (13,624,799.266 USD)
They spend about 48% of their revenue to run the company. I wonder how much it costs to run their servers and pay their employees. The only support we see on our side is that the servers are up and running...

They have GMs. And they ARE active. They are just forced by the CEO to not take any actions against the boters. Ask any current GM working for Joymax.

Game Watchers which are most of the Joymax USA office are poorly paid and Game Masters GM's are usually fairly paid.
GW are the ones that want to make change to the game but can't. Joymax like the way the game is running right now.

Why did they make an agreement with Ahnlab then and pay a lot of money for an anti-illegal program solution?
And @TheSpy, unfortunately i don't personally know any GMs

, so where did you get your info?

I personally don't know one either, but a trusted member from rev6 wanted to apply as a GM. The only thing he got back was the reply that the work there is not what he thinks it is - you have to follow the CEO instructions to the last detail.
it may be or may be not proof enough, for me it is.

so within these guidelines a GM cant even appear on a server
therefore to me making their job pointless

They actually do have tasks, but those tasks are not what a GM actually should do.

maybe a GM has a different meaning to Joymax
for most it would be someone who monitors and helps the online gaming community
