Just curious did all the legits died out?

There's some still left, not many capped though. My guess is 0-20 farmed capped legits per server.

Hmmm, when I started back on Oasis in Oct '06, there weren't enough legits IMO; then over a year latter, in Feb '08 I started to play on Venus, never thought there could be that many legits playing in one server. Back on Oasis, I knew only about 3 other legits who ultimately played on Venus as well. I quit the game back in May '09; I think it's gone back to my Oasis days: only a handful of legits that still play on that server.

most non botting players dont walk around wearing a "legit" badge and insulting everyone else, you know.
some use a loader only
some dont use any 3rd party program, sometimes out of simple ignorance
most importantly, many players see no point in botting.

"legit" is a label, and a war one : it means "you cheaters shouldnt be here and we're so much better than you".
most people who dont bot dont have that stupid attitude.

in the end, "legit" fits to stuck up better than thou bigots more than to anyone else.

besides, the "legit" concept makes little sense in SRO anyway because the "legits" are the ones who have an advantage over the others.
3rd party programs in sro dont give you (like in plenty of other games) overpowered items, super-powerful hacks (god mode, speed mode etc) and so on.
these hacks justify the use of the "legit" label in usual games in order to keep a fair competition among non cheaters.

in sro you dont get any superiority for cheating, except to _grind_ and to counter stealth/invis as far as i know.

Legits are superior because they do play their build and they do so in real parties. And that's what gives a superior advantage in SRO : euro parties.
So as it's a win win deal for the legits, they shouldnt be proud of it. It's easier to be legit than to be botter, seriously.
You'll level up faster with a bot that's granted, but you wont be able to play your char well except if you are a good hardcore gamer. Whereas if you spend all your gaming time doing parties, you are at least a decent party player and you end up knowing your build.

meh i logged in yesterday and i cant say i saw any improvement to silkroad.. the same shit just different people.

botting gives such a large advantage over people who dont bot for several reasons.
bots dont get sosuns because they buy gold.. but because they got 20 other people doing the exact same job.

the reason the word legit is used rather aggressivly now adays is to show no signs of weakness in playing, bots dont get angry at what you say but they certainly dont like dieing 50 times in a row at nachals thats for sure. the more bots you can annoy in game the less likely that other less powerful members will get in the way of achieving a legit game. after all most players i know dont play because that cannot compete against a group of people playing for the aim to just beat people.

botting doesnt achieve much and only really ruins your own game play.

the addicted people are the bots who get to level 100 and say
"aww wait lets make another... and another... and another..." these are the ones causing the legits to dispearce too

How can I bot if I do not play SRO anymore? By the way, I said that everyone now know so well the name of bots, logos and other stuff furthermore You can't simply claim that someone doesn't bot because you're not sitting next to him and watching him grinding.
Anyways, say whatever You want, but face the fact that
legit now is the one who watching how his bot grinding and chatting with guild/union
Botter is the one who checks his bot once or twice a day or so.
This is the logic of mine...

i think that is way too high, at least on Eos. My guess would be like 0-2 ff lvl 100 legits

This. Well if you look how "fast" I lvled you would seen that in 2 years i reached only 75lvl... I know words aren't good prove but anyways. Look at EB how many ppl are saying that they tried or breaking the taboo of the forum, moreover there are the ones who visit OTL//OSV//AC//OG everyday and those forums where they can go to.

I have never been at odds with botters. Well maybe I have felt proud as a member of the legit confederation for a while and I have been annoyed at the excess of bots (mostly goldbots though, which is a very different matter from botting players).
But very soon I have come to know the venus legits, their underhanded tactics, their cowardice and submission to rules and inept leaders, their "pride" which is just being stuck up, despiseful, and a cog in the machine which disregards heart, frienship and loyalty to humanity.

Yeah. That much. And still happening today after the legits have left venus. There are still such pricks and idiots like that on venus. I met one. I was proposed to join the remaining legit guilds. I was imagining that well, after the downfall, the crash, the awesome failure of the legit nazis on venus, probably everyone had understood the reason why they had fallen and anyway the jerks and the stuck ups had all left in disgust.

Well guess what, just as in nature... they havent. Some remained. And they do believe that friendship passes after "loyalty" and "commitment". Come on.
It has been a conflict between heart and dronization. Heart has won. The arrogant pricks have lost when enough people have realized how much they were pricks, dickheads, unfair, cheesy, liars etc etc etc etc.

My point is, if you wear legit as a badge then you have the one needed condition to MISUSE and ABUSE that badge and that very idea.

Whereas if you do play "legitly" but arent using the concept nor the word (you're just not using bots nor 3rd party progs because you see no point in using them) then you dont claim to be better than other people and then you consider other people to be PEOPLE and not OBJECTS (which was the core trouble with the goddam nazi legits and the motive why the nazi label applies to them so well)

That's all what being legit meant to a typical venus legit : walking around calling other players "BOTS". As in : "shut up bot, who gave you permission to talk ?" (a Fly quote on a screenshot).

I used to be annoyed at botters until I played for a while with the legits. Then I realized the botters and even the goldbots were NOTHING in annoyance compared to the nazistic legits. But you had to live it to believe it. You had to be framed by jerks who then were backed by your leadership, for example. And then later on, ô marvel, said leadership was revealed to be... CLOSET BOTTERS !!!

So please. I don't know about your server. But on mine (venus), the legit label has been for jerks and idiots since last june.
Whereas I meet party-players all the time. They play legitly. They just dont use the word nor think they are superior to botters.

I've been friends with botters since venus started. Nearly none of them wear sosuns. The ones who do, do so because of their marketing skills not because of their botting.
I wear sosuns. I dont see how botting would earn me any. Running many goldbots until you gather enough to buy a sun, or having the luck of finding one? Come on. I know the proverbial annoying botter is full sosun and capped raping everyone at cape pvp, but i've yet to witness this myself.

"BOTTERS", not "bots" as you said...
calling people "bots" is acting like a textbook nazi. These are people, not objects. The instant you call someone an object, you dehumanize this someone and you are acting like a nazi. I have zero tolerance for that because I have been taught by the venus legits.
Botters get angry at being pk-ed through exploits until they lose their hard-earned gear.
People who use such unfair and anti-players tactics are universaly hated and they have lost the war because they failed as people, they failed at respecting other people, and they proved to be the worst cheaters of all.
"Scamming a botter is legit" was the rule among venus legits. They lost because they showed lack of respect to people. The jerks lost and left. God help the Aion community of the server they moved to, like a cancer that has switched hosts.

The exact contrary has happened on venus.
When the pseudo legits had annoyed enough people, they lost.
When they lost, they claimed to be "bored" about the game and they moved out to Aion.

Keep in mind, they annoyed so many legit players. Not just botters.

They united everyone against them.

The botter friends I met when I joined venus used to be legits fighting botters at a time when the venus "legit" leaders were botting their asses off on Xian. That's why I never took the hateful-legit model seriously.
I turned out to be right on. You cant fail when you choose heart and friendship over power.
That's called integrity BTW, a quality which is very underrated and which people who are proud to call themselves "legit" should check themselves against, as a minimum measure of lol.. i dont know... consistency? honesty? genuineness?

Yes the venus "legits" nearly drove the botters off the server when they chain-pked them with the watchers exploit until they stole their gear.

For having played in botters unions for a long time, I can tell your assessment applies to most botters, but not to all.
There is a top bracket of botters who are hardcore players who own the game whatever way they play. They use bots as just another means to their end. They are able to handgrind to cap and some have done it in the past. These guys have no ruined gameplay, but then they are very few and far between.
For me, even getting plvled ruins my characters.

Yes what you're saying is true of most botters. They have a desesperately miserable gameplay consisting of artificially leveling up char after char in the flimsy hope of having a good char, never benefiting from it except as an addiction to seeing characters stats rising on their screen. It's a trap for young minds.
But how can you blame them for being weak?
It would be better for them if there existed no bots to tempt them, or if there was a genuine legit community to invite them to play in parties. But it didnt happen on venus. The legit community was rotten, not genuine, extremely despiseful and nasty. Everyone learned to know that from inside and or from outside the community. In fact this was known since the start of the server, only it was known by too few people yet to change the tide of the conflict.
When it was known by enough people... bye bye.

no, i disagree.
in this conflict the botters are the gentle ones.
they dont try to win a war, they dont try to drive the legits off the server, they dont claim the legits are objects and not people, they dont use exploits to steal the legits' heard earned gear, they dont scam while claiming it is righteous to do so.
they dont exploit their union members through keeping the loot to themselves through the use of manipulative drop rules, they dont do a ton of other things that are all underhanded mafia-type actions.
the botters are players, just players, normal players, there is no evil conspiracy among botters but there used to be a big fat one among legits.
and as any greedy parasitic monster, when it could not eat off everyone and once it had been identified for what it was by enough people it was rejected by the whole server community. The _thing_ lost its grip on the _people_ and had to move on to another host (another community).

As for the "legits have no life" and other typical smack talk... who cares? It's fun as a known pattern... my old botter friends had made a guild called "No_Life_Fr"... the label doesn't apply only to legits:)
Wear the no-life badge with pride, this would show character.
Wear negative labels with pride, it shows you're not so weak inside.
For instance I'm a lamergamer (as opposed to powergamers). I never get to cap or even near cap, in any game. I make tons of newbie chars. And I dont care, I find my fun that way.

Botters however get to level 100 whilst 10 other of there chars also get to lvl 100 but farming at 9x so they lvl slowly because they dnt reli care what lvl they are just the fact they can farm for suns for there main char...

Old argument countered with old argument: it's been proven that handgrind lvl faster when you play in party. Leveling slow in 2 years is just a low excuse come from your imagination.
