Why even bother?

Hello.
Some of you might know me, some of you might not. I used to play silkroad.
Anyway I'll get right to the point with this silly pointless thread.
Yesterday i did a complete formation of my harddrives (windows was starting to act like an old lady driving a car) and while i was about to reinstall the current mmorpg that i play, which happens to be WoW, (world of warcraft) i had a change of heart and decided to give silkroad a quick try again, just for fun...
Okay so, i downloaded the client, updated and shit, noticed a few new servers so i figured I'd give one of them a shot since new servers should be bound to have less players, meaning less server traffic right? Anyway i noticed they finally got a que system for their login now which is awesome, but after having waited for about two hours i got impatient...
Now i alt tabbed out to windows again, while still having silkroad open i downloaded WoW at the same time, (which is 7gb) installed, updated, installed addons and so forth. Another two hours later this was all done, and i still had not connected to the silkroad server. Okay so whatever, I logged into wow and joined a 25 man raid party for a dungeon which took about four hours. After that i greeted goodnight to my guildies, shut down wow and went back into silkroad, and geezh, what do you know, I was STILL on que for the server.

At this point I couldn't help but smile, shut down silkroad and uninstall it in an instant.
The moral of the short and pointless story is, why bother when there's so many better alternatives? I know you can have a blast playing silkroad if you choose to pay a ridiculous high amount of money each month, but there's way better games with way better customer services available out there. The only fun part about silkroad is pvp anyway, and that is dominated by the person willing to spend the most amount of money on the game.
For one i know Aion is in beta testings right now, the visual effects looks stunning, and so does the gameplay. Kinda like a mixbreed between the best aspects from WoW along with a lot of aspects from silkroad. I for one will surely give it a go.
Aaaanyway, enough bitching from me, i just had to let something out after an eight hour attempt to login to silkroad.
Cheerio

Let me guess this right, u are willing to pay $15 for wow but U are unwilling to Pay $15 for SRO SO u can login
U have no interest on playing sro if u did u would of waited days to login then buy premium then play.
if you were a NEW player yes, the login part would be good enough to turn down any new player.

I don't mind paying 15 USD to play sro with a premium if i get customer support for my money, but sadly that's not included.
And erh the servers were all up, and crowded, at the current time.

SRO is superior to WoW in graphics and gameplay, that's why we stay.
It is a shame that it's not run by a better company.. but we can't really change that.

wha... i haven't seen it, but gameplay?.... i heard wow got some kind of apocolyptic event or something that changed the scenary of the newbie areas. sounds pretty dam cool to me. They even got raids and stuff, all we have is ctf, fw, and logging in game....

Why don't you go play wow then?
I have lots of fun at medusa and pvp.
I tried wow for 10 minutes, it was sickening on the eyes. If it had better graphics I might be able to play it. hoping that Aion isn't a letdown atm

Something about college and paying my own shit doesn't give me the pleasure of blowing cash out my wazoo.
I'm not a fan of the cartoon design, but from what i've heard, gameplay design is a lot better and detailed than botroad online.. i mean silkroad online. Dunno about you, but I wouldn't say a game filled with goldbots running rampant and no GM good gameplay...

WoW is just as repetative as SRO.

The gameplay is far superior to anything silkroad has to offer.
The raids in WoW are so amazing, the pvp is so advanced, on a much higher level than you could ever imagine silkroad could offer. The endless stream of items, areas, fun quests, blabla, i could go on.
One thing that made me in love with silkroad though was the jobbing system, but that's kinda also the only thing there is. I mean sure it has nice graphics aswell but that should not be a reason to play an mmorpg. If you took out the nice graphics in silkroad, the game would be total poo. I mean face it, leveling up sucks. All the botters sucks. All the credit card frauders sucks. The fact that joymax offers no customer service combined with the fact that you have to pay IRL goddamn money to enhance your items / gameplay is total dogshit.
The point is that there's just an endless stream of other games out there that's so much better in every goddamn aspect. And i know if 9/10 of you guys gave some of them a try you would never in hell go back to playing silkroad.
It seriously amazes me too see all of you guys becoming so defensive with your egos trying to say that silkroad is number one and that no mmorpg could ever beat it.
I mean do what you like man, just be aware of the other possibilites

Oh and zShared, how could you possible judge a game after ten minutes?

I tried SRO for 10 minu... oh wait I couldn't log in for 2 hours. If only it had content at every level, good quest, dungeons & instance @ all levels, raids, no bots, no ccfers, bosses that don't get roflpwned by high levels, complicated PvP, better skill building system, etc etc etc etc etc. I did not mention graphics once.

Using graphics as an argument is so weak, and its easy to counter.
Example:
Starcraft has shitty graphics compared to the games now, yet its still one of the best games of time.
GG
In before "......but the sro graphics engine is older, its unfair to compare it against the newer games....".
Then don't use graphics as an argument because its not universal like gameplay.

I just personally can not play a game where your character is so cartoony. :\
Same thing with TF2 . . looks like a good game, really, but it's just really horrid to look at.
I pay for my prem, I don't grind around goldbots anymore, don't hunt low level uniques anyway.. so sro is still fun, and much better than wow, imo.

i dont see why people without prem even complain, its a F2P game and ur complaining? i for one, can afford to spend an entire 20 Farking dollars a month, to play sro. i never see prem users complain. and for the people who r complaining about better support, if u have prem u dont notice anything..

Hmm only way I see how prem allows you to be oblivious is by letting you log on so you can see how the game is... so if you miss it:
1) You're mentally retarded
2) You're a Farking idiot
3) You're a normal person who enjoys handing out his cash to random ppl you see on the streets suffering from hang-overs
4) You're a spoiled brat who wastes away your folk's money.
5) You're an afk closet botting and thus fail to see the goldbots everywhere and are part of the rampant botting. (Don't bother saying this is a false accusation. This is strictly speaking with the pretense that if you have premium, you don't notice anything wrong.)
See yourself in one of those options?

I see one option you left out; people that actually have a career/job and can afford to spend some money on the side for entertainment... It's not just little kids that play this game, you know.

See 1,2,3, and 5. I'll admit, I have put a few dollars in it, and I think I'm around 2. After i hit that pay button I think to myself, why the hell am i feeding this shithole my cash. Than I figure it's so I can have my cat pick up shit. Than I log on, DC, and realize I just wasted 5 dollars. Silk free for about a year now. I'm no longer paying for something that lasts for 28 days and can only be used for about 4 days due to traffic and real life.
If you have a job and want to play SRO for fun go ahead. Just admit you're slightly an idiot for giving money to a company that doesn't do shit. You're pretty much giving money to your wife for a blowjob when she'll already give it to you. You just get it faster. Slightly idiotic to the common man, but you're having fun.

Hmm, most of the people that play this game do what? OH THAT'S RIGHT! BOT! That means what? They're afk through the long grind with gold bots & other bots. Now, if you can't see the problems you're:
A]A Fanboy and we all know how blind they are. These guys think SRO is above every other MMO, they will list out all the problems SRO has then say game X is worse because of graphics having spent no more than 10 minutes in game X.
B]Willfully ignorant. The husband that knows his wife is cheating on him but won't do or say anything because he is in denial of the problems.
C]AFK.
